looks better! Since the hair is made up of robotic parts, I suggest using more shading to highlight the shapes more.

zadaben's icon looks bad though due to the asymmetrical lineart, i think you should work on it a little more

the design direction I'm going for is the appearance of a pulp comic book both from covers and pages. Other times, I'll try my hand at trying to capture the minimalistic yet softly colored Art Deco posters... This is one of those WIP drawings
