Our Team so far
1337gamer15- Project Lead, Main Character Designer, Environmental Designer, Document Designer.
Karasz- Enemy Designer, Logo Design, Various Promotional Arts
Been working on this project since October 2016, planning the game thoroughly and all. Worked a ton on design documents, and concept art for a long time.
It's only til recently that I've finally decided to get something functional rolling.
I'm mainly making this fangame just to prove to people that I have what it takes to make games. It's the only fangame I'm gonna make before I move onto doing my own original stuff.
I'm using the MEGA Engine made by Wrecking Programs. Managed to port it to Game Maker Studio 2 (albeit with an fmod problem, I think the fmod just needs to be updated)
Of course, it didn't take long for me to realize how difficult programming is...
I've made a wee bit o' progress myself, such as modding the Star Crash into Swarm Shield, Butterfly Man's weapon. There's still some functionality missing, like giving the shield health, and allowing the player to fall slower when they have the shield on.
So now I'd really like to ask
Is there anyone out there with decent gml programming experience that could help me put this game together?
Because it's my aim to be a designer, not a developer, and I can't say I see myself being a programmer in the future.
What I am capable of though, is making all the art assets, the sprites, all that stuff.
And if you'd like to help, all you'd need to worry about is just getting the enemies, bosses, weapons, menus and such functional.
Things like sprites, BGs, and level design are all gonna be handled by me.
If payment is needed for your services, then I'm willing to do so.
Also we're gonna need someone that can compose Mega Man styled music
More info on the game
Story so far…
The Robot Expo Parade Carnival has rolled up in town. Mega Man is contacted by the carnival’s MC Rho, who offers him a float at the parade. He also tells him that 9 other guest performer robots from around the globe will be appearing alongside him at the grand celebration.
However, it doesn’t take long for Mega Man to realize that the whole carnival was a trap by Dr. Wily to spread a newly developed malware across the masses quickly. This new virus seems to allow robots to harm humans without fear of deactivating, and the 9 robot guest performers go berserk! Mega Man steps forth to oppose Wily for the millionth time.
Confronting the mad doctor, Wily orders his new robot, Rho, to fight Mega Man. Rho charges his attack, but instead, attacks Dr. Wily! Rho says that Wily may have brought him into this world, but this “blessing” has made him realize the burden humans are on robots. Seems he didn’t think his plans through. Now this virus has taken his control away from his own robots! Rho enlists the aid of the now infected 9 robot guest performers in his scheme to overthrow humanity! He offers Mega Man a position in his army, but Mega Man refuses as hard as he can.
Injured, and reduced to a hospital bed, Dr. Wily is forced to depend on his old nemesis Mega Man, to find and contain the threat of a robot of his own creation.
Overall, the story is meant to serve as a “series finale” to the Classic Mega Man story, and explain more why things are the way they are in Mega Man X
Please understand the sprites placed here are only proof of concept and are not final in any way. I'm aware they need polish.
Silly Robot Master, mainly based off Spring Man, ColorMan.EXE and Laverne from Day of the Tentacle. Represents Kiddie Kingdom
The Silly
Quilt Woman PUN-01 (Children’s Entertainer Robot)
Master of Duvets
Bio: Mascot for Scottish Toy Company, and host of a popular children’s early education show. She can rapidly mass produce fine quilts to help cold homeless people and children. Though playful, she is known to throw tantrums when things don’t go her way. She usually educates small children about letters and numbers, as well as the dangers of playing with sharp objects.
Country of Origin: United Kingdom
Weapon: Plaid Block
Good Point: Playful
Bad Point: Childish
Like: Sheep
Dislike: Purple tentacles
Stage: Toy Factory
Energy: Dry Battery
Quote: “Who says you cannae learn anything from cartoons eh?”
Plaid Block – Fire a sewing bobbin that turns into a plaid cushion. Can be used as a stepping stone. When shot at enemies, it tangles them in sewing thread, and instantly kills small enemies, even Metalls hiding in their helmets.
A magical robot mainly based off Flame Man, Cloud Man, Mistman.EXE and Great Tiger from Punch Out!! Yer going to love his weapon, if you can get past his stage. Overall represents the fortune tellers found in theme parks.

The All-Knowing
Genie Man PUN-03 (Fortune Teller Robot)
Master of Fortune
Bio: A fortune teller robot with built in pyrotechnics and holo projector to attract customers. He can’t actually grant wishes, so he instead tries to tell his customers how to alter their fate for the better. When fighting, he usually tests his opponents as if a teacher, hoping they have the strength to best him. He levitates using a smoke-like compound, that fulminations can blow away.
Country of Origin: United Arab Emirates
Weapon: Genie Illusion
Good Point: Clairvoyant
Bad Point: Doesn’t seek victory
Like: Selfless people
Dislike: Greedy people
Stage: Treasure Caves
Energy: Thermal Power
Quote: “Pay attention to me!”
Genie Illusion – Fire a holographic copy of Mega Man, that will explode, as well as attract the attention of enemies. Enemies who shoot it will be electrocuted, and if they touch it, it will explode in their face. Not all enemies are fooled though…
An Aussie robot master who was made to counterbalance the goofiness of Quilt Woman. Mainly based off Search Man, since I thought his fight was sloppy, and could use improvement. Also based off an swagman cork hat, crossbow hunter, and Janey Springs. Meant to represent a Safari Adventure or Animal Kingdom section of a theme park. Adding a bit o' lucky country humour to any project's bound to make it a rippa mate!

The Sharpshooting
Hunter Woman PUN-04 (Big Game Hunter Robot)
Master of Survival
Bio: Hosts a TV show on wild game hunting, as well as general survival tips for robots who get lost in the wilderness. Never loses track of her prey, following them until the opportunity to kill arises. Can survive in many environments, thanks to her solar panels. She generally reacts quickly to sniping things, and can only rely off the quick blurry silhouette she sees.
Country of Origin: Australia
Weapon: Homing Crossbow
Good Point: Adaptable fuel intake
Bad Point: Poor hygiene
Like: Nature
Dislike: City folk
Stage: Desert Billabong
Energy: Solar Energy
Quote: “See you beyond the black stump, mate!”
Homing Crossbow – Fire a crossbow bolt, that you can charge to lock onto enemies.
The game's planned Main Antagonist. He is mainly based off Magic Man and Maxwell from Don't Starve
He is meant to be a younger incarnation of Sigma, as the game's story is a transitional torch passing of villainhood from Dr. Wily to Sigma. Throughout the story, Dr. Wily gradually grows to learn the error of his ways, as he is replaced by someone far nastier. Even though Dr. Wily chooses to be good, he has inadvertently sowed the seeds for what will become Mega Man X, placing Zero, and now Rho, whose program is later found years later by Dr. Cain and made into Sigma. He can't run from his mistakes and villainy that easily.
Rho is overall Sigma back before he became so selfish and cruel, being more easygoing, had a dashing good full head of hair, and loved to entertain other robots, but he was still a bit of a human genocidal megalomaniac . The story follows his character developing into so.
The Almighty
Rho PUN-00
Master of Ceremonies
Bio: A robot Dr. Wily made to host a fake “Robot Expo Parade” to spread a new virus he was testing. Seems the virus was more potent than he thought, because Rho has gone rouge and turned against his own creator. Rho seems to be very good at manipulating robots to join him, with his dashing good looks and magic tricks. There’s something very familiar about him too…
Good Point: Charismatic
Bad Point: Megalomaniac
Like: Lycoris Radiata flowers
Dislike: Dr. Wily
Energy: Unknown
Quote: “It’s for the greater good of robots everywhere.”
I'm also hoping folks could give me some feedback regarding the concept of this project.
Please bear in mind that I've been working on it for months, and it may not be so easy for me to change things like the robot masters, as I've already determined how their stages work, their weaknesses, and how they interfere with them in aspects besides just simply dealing more damage.
I could change their designs a bit, but it won't be easy since they'll need fit the descriptions of their powers and abilities accordingly.
Please provide as much guidance as you can when it comes to redesigning a robot master.
For things like changing the layout of a stage, that won't be too hard.
If you're interested in working on this project, send me a PM.

We're just working hard to show what we are capable of. Heck, I had a fun time working as a conceptual artist. If this doesn't impress you, then what will?

trying to follow the NES colour pallette limits. Generally around only 3 or 4 colours per sprite. I already stated the sprites weren't final.
