Gaming Capture Cards
#1
Hey guys,

I want to record in-game chat audio on my PS4 and I've been told that I need an Elgato capture card. Is there a store where I can buy an Elgato capture card? If so, what's the price? Also, is there any other alternatives for recording in-game audio besides capture cards?

Thanks Wink

I'm throwing this all out off the top of my head here - but you can purchase an Elgato at your local electronics retailer (liek Best Buy or Fry's). There's two models: The HD (which is square-ish and captures at 30FPS pretty easily) and the HD60 (which captures at 60FPS and needs a beefier machine) I think I got my HD for $129 and the HD60 retails for like $159?? I'd go with the HD60 if your computer can handle it, oh lord oh my god I hate the HD with a burning passion. I think Hauppage also makes one that's...red...and...works better on OSX? I forget.

You're using a Mac, though, and something like OBS that makes working with different sound channels easier doesn't really exist due to the way it's coded in OSX - so you're probably gonna have to do a little more messing around with sound channels - a friend of mine streams with an Elgato and a Blue Yeti headset, and that requires the use of a small application called SoundFlower to mix the audio output.

...I think you can have the audio feed so that you'll hear yourself echo on the PS4, so you might not need to bother with SoundFlower...?

So you think I should try getting the Blue Yeti headset? And I also heard about SoundFlower, but never knew how to download it. Do you know a site that I can use to download it?
