Trouble ripping from JP mobile game
#1
So, I started dabbling with data mining from mobile Android games using Bluestacks, VMXRay and CriPakTools. I was able to find all the sprites (which are already posted on TSR by volo) from the English version of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, so I decided I would try the same thing for the JP version of the game, which has exclusive units (sprites) that nobody has ripped yet.

So I did everything I did with the English version, but for some reason, most of the PNG files I end up getting from the JP version APK are unreadable and can't be opened on my PC. I tried using a different APK file of the same game, but the same thing happened. Anybody have any idea why this is, and if there's a way around it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you upload a couple of these unreadable PNGs so we can take a look?

I tried, but when I try to add one as an attachment nothing happens. When I try uploading one of them to an image hosting site it gives an error.

Upload them to a general file hosting site such as Dropbox or Mediafire. In a zip would be convenient too, so that we don't have to download each one individually Smile

The files you pull from the game are full sprite sheets. That's just a couple of them, but there are hundreds.

Here's an example of a random one you get when you rip from the global version:

Strange. Thought these might just have an extra header tacked on or something, but they seem encrypted or compressed in some way. Can't recognise anything though.

You might want to try asking on ZenHAX, otherwise I can't suggest much. Sorry!
