Question
Because I don't want to necro my old thread.

Some stuff from that old thread.

And now the thing I actually came here to post.

I've been trying to get back into making pixel art, I kind of dropped off last year when the school year started, and now I have some free time again. Here I decided to experiment with posing, which is why I'm here. I wanted to work with a different style, hopefully one I can make my own, and included the Shantae styled sprite of my character as a reference. The figure's pose is supposed to be a fighting stance, but it feels off. I wasn't going for any specific stance and just drew up a generic pose.

EDIT

Okay, so I just decided to wing it and all things considered it actually looks okay. It still needs work but it looks presentable at least.

face is unreadable, tone down a lot on the selout. Try finding a sweetspot between detail and readability, it's too difficult to understand what's going on with her face.

additionally, the body looks broken in parts due to having different orientations.

Removed the third eye. She's supposed to have one, but yeah, it made her face look too cluttered on a sprite this size. The new faces look better but I'm not sure which one I should work with.

I tried to straighten out her torso so that it doesn't look so crooked, to mixed results.

I decided to use Face 2 on the straight back. Made her horns longer and detailed her outstretched hand a bit.

Face readability...Doesn't seem that much better. I'll keep working on it.
