I found the Swoopin' Stu model within the model viewer in Super Mario Sunshine, but I can't seem to find the texture animation files. I attempted to get the texture pack from the HD version, but it doesn't work.

What am I missing?

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie on ripping textures, but to be specific, I'm interested in ripping textures from GameCube games like Super Mario Sunshine, my favorite.

Thing is, I got the model of one of my favorite enemies of that game, the Swoopin' Stu slash Gooble, and I need some assistance on how to get those textures ripped from this game, which I got on Dolphin Emulator.

Can you help? Thanks.

Fortunately, ripping textures from GameCube is super-easy because Dolphin can do it for you! Here's how:

Step 1: Open the game you want to rip from in Dolphin.

Step 2: With the game running, go to the Dolphin menu and click the "Graphics" button above your game list (the picture of the screen). This will open the graphics configuration menu.

Step 3: In the graphics menu you just opened, click the "Advanced" tab, then check the box next to "Dump Textures." Dolphin will create a folder called "Dump" on your PC, where it will store every texture it loads as a PNG.

Step 4: Go to the part of the game containing the texture you want, and be sure the enemy appears on-screen so that Dolphin can save its texture. Congratulations! The texture is ripped!

Now, all you have to do is open the "Dump" folder again and sort through all of the textures Dolphin ripped until you find the ones you want.

Hope this helps!

ripping SMS models with dedicated tools was possible like a decade ago already. iirc the model format is BMD and various tools exist how to handle them.
Back in the day we used to use yaz0dec to decompress the files and then use BMDview to convert to OBJ (with tga textures I think?) but now there exist many more tools

see https://egaddsworkshop.com/forums/forumd....php?fid=8
Once there was a way to get back homeward

I think these might be the Swoopin' Stu textures from the BMDViewer2. Are these the ones? I was having a hard time trying to get the background of the eyes to be transparent, especially the body.

I think I got my favorite enemy from Super Mario Sunshine ripped from the Dolphin Emulator, but I've having difficulty putting the pieces together like it was in-game. Can anyone tell what's wrong? I even tried to get textures from a HD Texture Pack, AND tried to get the necessary colors.

Let's cool it with all of the threads. You had like 3 or 4 open at once all with the same request for help in them. Keep everything with the same topic (in this case, Sunshine) in one thread.

Sorry man. I'm just getting steamed at the moment. I don't want my uploaded models to be rejected, not again. That aside, some guy said he got the Swoopin' Stu / Gooble model from a Sunshine ROM he ripped.

I think I saw the model in this video. The only thing I'm trying to figure out is what online resources he used to get textures, materials.
