Need Help Ripping Models From Zelda: Majora's Mask
#1
I am very new to ripping, hence why I immediately decided to jump into the apparently very involved process of ripping from the N64. Seeing that Majora's Mask had few models uploaded, I set my sights on it. Naturally, I immediately ran headfirst into an impenetrable wall of problems, which is why I'm posting here. Anyway, let's get into my questions.

Quick background:
  • I am using this guide, although I am using Project64 instead of 1964 because both seem to work, and I am using Blender as the 3D editor throughout the process because I already know how to use it and didn't feel like jumping down the Milkscape-whatever rabbit hole.
  • I searched this forum for coverage of the game, but only found topics related to its 3DS remake. Thus, I apologize if my questions retread common ground.
  • Again, I'm very green in the field of ripping, so please don't lapse into too much jargon.

The Questions (finally, am I right?)
  • Models must be ripped by taking a screenshot of the game while the model is present, right? There's no other way? And if this is so, how are unused models ripped?
  • When I imported the .wrl files into Blender, I got error messages and the scene didn't load. However, when I used an older version of Blender, the model was imported, but some elements of it weren't. Would these problems go away if I started using Milkscape3D or something? Is anyone familiar with Blender enough to tell me what's going on?
  • I tried to rip curled-up Goron Link from a scene, but some of the parts of his model facing the ground were gone, leaving a hole. Does Majora's Mask employ some form of culling? If so, how is ripping an entire scene possible?
  • Viewing the scene in textured mode revealed that the textures were not applied correctly in some cases, mainly on the level geometry (they repeated too early and in irregular ways). Is there some way to correct this? (I don't plan on ripping areas, but I want to know in case something like this happens with a model I do want to rip)
  • Is there something unique about Majora's Mask that makes it difficult to rip models from? Its page seems suspiciously barren for such a popular game.
Optional Question:
  • Does anyone here know how to get into modding Majora's Mask? I've heard it's hard from somewhere (and also deduced as such from the rarity of hacks for it), but looking online yielded no tutorials whatsoever.
