"Members Referred"?

I've seen that there's this thing on everyone's profiles that says "Members Referred".

What does it do? I don't understand what it does.

When you register, you’re asked if another member referred you here and can enter their username. It’s just a count of how many people that particular user has recruited, so to speak. I imagine some forums use it but it’s always been irrelevant here.

So it's like if I have a friend, and I convinced him to join tVGR, then that person gets added to my "Members Referred" list?

On the back end, yes. Their name won't be visible on your profile though - that number would just increase by one.
