Live2D Ripping?
#1
Recently I've been really into a game called Shin Megami Tensei Dx2 for mobile. The character sprites/portraits look really high quality so I've been wanting to rip them, but they seem to be using Live2D and I have no idea how to do so or if its even possible to Rip Live2D. Anyone been successful there? Also, ripping newbie here so if I'm being dumb just tell me.

As far as I know, you can rip the textured used for the animations in portraits, but they are all pieces of the portraits, and at the moment there is no way to rip the joint pieces and animations. At least, it's also the case of Emote portraits.

Hm, is it like the Neptunia's where they have the body and poses just the faces and eyes are cut into pieces?

That depends on the artist who makes the works with the engine for the game. The case I'm talking about is Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, which was make in Emote engine. All of the sprites are in a lot of pieces, both body and head elements. I think that will be hard to find a way to extract them mounted and with animations. There are a tool named azusa or something like that, and the one who is making it, is working for extract both type of engine resource, but no idea about the state of the project.

Ah alright, thanks for the help. Do you know where I can get this tool? If I can just get the bits and pieces I could possibly put them together in photoshop or something.

Well, if they are live2D portraits, try with this: https://github.com/Project-AZUSA/Live2D

Not sure because I didn't try to extract the portraits from Live2D before. Maybe is a tool that you need Live2D engine installed to make it run, or something like that.
