Music?

Hey guys, as you can see, I'm new and such.

I've been visiting the site for years now, and I think its time that a music section is added, I'd be more than happy to have a weekly update and even run it and take care of it. I make flash games and movies with sprites, but with no music or sounds their just lame. So we need a sound section to keep flashers/developers happy.

Thoughts? Opinions?

As a sample of what I can do, I did a quick musical rip of Argus, a small NES spaceshooter.

Like, a radio player while we're visiting the site/forums? Or do you mean a place to download videogame music (VGM)? 'Cuz, while I may not be an admin, I'm pretty sure that I'm safe with saying that the second option is OUT OF THE QUESTION for the foreseeable future (and a long time afterward). This is a sprite database website, not a VGM repository.

There are other places to go for video game music that isn't all to hard to find. Different places just have different thing and that's that. So no we aren't gonna have VGM because well this holds sprites and I'm sure music would take up space that We just don't have as well as make the site slower.

Although it would be highly convenient if we also ripped sounds. Than flash movie-makers could have a one-stop resource. o:

I'm pretty sure that this issue has be raised ages ago, and my opinion is still the same, the site is better focusing on one part. I mean yes the site has enlarged throughout the years, being just Nintendo, then Sonic, then everything but, I think this jump would just change the focus of the site. I mean theres other sites that do music, why branch into a market thats already there?

I think that we may eventually consider something like this, but only after we're in a position where we have enough time and resources to do so, and even then have it only as a side-on thing. Similar to a downloads section which we plan to open in the resources part of the site.
