[PS1] Viewing .BIN Format Graphics?
#1
EDIT: Shoot, I just realized I put this in The Models Resource by mistake. If a mod can't move it, I'll repost it to the other side later.

I'm trying to rip 2D graphics directly from a PlayStation 1 game. After opening the disc I found what I believe to be the corresponding folders. However, all the data inside is listed in .BIN format, and I'm lost at how to progress. Is there a tool that can be used to open these, or should I be looking to convert them to another file format?

I've done ripping with PSX VRAM, but getting the files directly off the disc is new to me, so any help is greatly appreciated!

I don't think you can open a generic .BIN file, you need some extra tools for that.

Maybe this helps:

This was a great help in getting started. Using jPSXdec, I was able to open the graphics files and found that the ANM# folders contain all the large story graphics for the game, but unfortunately, the battle graphics I was looking don't appear to be here at all. Those BCHR# folders from my original post bizarrely contain just effects. What a shame!
