Ripped a bunch of .wav files from Devil May Cry 1 & 2's .BANK files.

Hi there! Guess I'll make my presence known today since I thought it was interesting and I wanted to share this with you all. Let's rock!  Pizza

So, with the help of someone by the name of Cédric Crystobal Orléans (with a link to his Ripper here.) With this program, I was able to rip a bunch of the sounds straight from the Devil May Cry HD Collection's versions of DMC1 & 2.

So first, I started with DMC2's, as I wanted to see if there was any unused stuff in there somewhere (I did find an interesting file, but it wasn't anything crazy, it'll be mentioned in the .txt document I'll have uploaded with the other files.) I did get quite a lot of audio from the .BANK I ripped from it. Granted, it doesn't include all of the in-game sound effects (though maybe due to how the game was botched in its creation, ripping those kinds of sounds take a little more work than what I did here), but it does include all of the cutscenes audio tracks with voices and sound effects along with most if not all of the game's music, all in .wav formats. I'll upload it to sounds resource and you all can take a listen to them all.

DMC1's was a lot different when it came to the results. There were two large .BANK files instead of one large .BANK file unlike DMC2 and...they pretty much contained ALL of the game's audio from Dante, the enemies, the music, even the simple sounds like Dante's footsteps. It was surreal hearing sounds that I was used to hearing in-game being played just through my computer. Didn't find anything strange with the audio, unlike DMC2, though I may have missed something considering just how much stuff there was to sift through and listen to.

Anyways, just wanted to let you know that I have those files and I'll upload them soon. I've noticed for a long while now that the DMC1 & 2 sound files hadn't been uploaded in any capacity on Sound's Resource, so this will be a nice little piece of history today.  Big Grin

Basically what I'm trying to say is, if you ever see .BANK files in a game's folders and want to rip everything from them. Use his program, his video gives a good tutorial on how to use it, and no, I'm not promoting him. As for the file type, I'm not sure of any other games that use that file format, may just be this specific version of games that use that used format when they were porting them, I wouldn't be too certain on that, though.
