Coraline (Wii) models
#1
Question
Hi, I have been working tirelessly for about 5 days or so on trying to extract the contents of the .Wii files that are in the folder directory's of the game. I have found that the header is "vaps" If you would be so kind as to provide a bms script, or provide insight on this file format, I would be very happy & thankful. Thanks in advance, & have a wonderful rest of your day.

I managed to extract the .wii files with unarchtool unrivaled edition and it extracts .cdat files which can be opened with geomorphtool but when i import it into blender its only 1 solid model with no materials, whereas ninjaripper extracted section of the model (hair, eyes, face etc). the textures are also probably .cdat . Even tho geomorph tool can open the models it also has its flaws like crashing randomly for no reason. im trying to compile a viewer that theoreticly can open .cdat because it had a cmd window pop up on geomorphtool. the software costs $80: https://www.alprogramming.com/product-pa...ed-edition

i just shot off an email to the unarchtool devs asking for info, i think they will respond kindly because i am a high paying customer and they seem like nice people (they helped with a tool issue and told me to contact them if i had questions)

btw it seems like the renderer is vtk https://vtk.org/download/

They responded! "Hello, yes we are aware of that. We added Coraline support just because one customer asked for it and we didn't parse the format completely, but just enough for that customer to be satisfied. And honestly, since we weren't expecting someone else to be interested in it, we haven't touched the format again since. Now about the crashes and stability of the Geomorph. We're very much aware of it and in the past couple of months, even years we tried to stabilize it but there were serious issues with the extensions that we had to put up -such as vtk- so we decided to carry the whole Unarch/Geomorph/Texmorph project to another language. Right now we're working on a much more comprehensive, stable, and easy system. Now if you want, we can add full support for Coraline for the new set of tools even though initially we weren't thinking about re-adding it. But like I said it's still a work in progress and it's going to take some time before it's ready to be published. That's pretty much it and if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask."

Everyone go support these people, they deserve it!
