Ripping PlayStation 2 voice clips
#1
Question
Does anyone here know how to properly rip voice clips from PlayStation 2 games? I've used PSound but noticed that it doesn't give me any cutscene dialogue and instead gives me music files and sound effects. I've been told that programs like PSS Demux and PSS Player can easily give me audio files, but I don't know how to extract PSS files. Can someone help?

I'd say look at programs like VGMToolbox for audio, it may depend on what audio format the game uses, it might not be an unsupported type so it'd help to have an idea of what audio file type you're working with.

I'm specifically trying to rip voice clips from Ben 10 Alien Force, but I don't know how to extract any of the files from the game. Tried running it through WinRAR and got nothing.

Update: I downloaded the latest version of PSound (which is actually what one of my friends uses to extract voice clips from video games) and it's still only giving me music and sound effects, not cutscene dialogue.

EDIT: Apparently it seems like the missing cutscene dialogue is in the actual cutscene videos which can allegedly be accessed through PSS files or a similar format. How can I access these? Tried downloading PCSX2 only to be hit with a BIOS warning (I don't physically own a PS2 so I don't have access to this type of file.)

You should use Pss Plex for getting those files, please note that Pss plex will rip the audio and video separately, you'd have to put them together through a video editor I've used the program multiple times to great success! (I've done Malice and Frogger The Rescue for instance)

Yes, I did download PSS Plex, but I can't seem to find a way to actually extract any of the PSS files themselves.

UPDATE: I finally figured out how to extract PSS files from PlayStation 2 games! However, when I attempted to use PSS Plex to extract the audio from the cutscenes of Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks, I got video files but no audio. I changed to another utility and got the same result: video but no sound. What's going on?
