Battletoads arcade question

Im trying to find info about the battletoads arcade and how It was sold. I read somewhere that It was sold as a "kit game", does that mean It didnt have Its own original cabinet? Did you get PCB and deacals and put in/on existing cabinets?

All cabinets ive seen for sale have all been slightly different.

I would some day like to build a custom dedicated cabinet slope game

Right; it doesn't come with the cabinet itself. Most kits just come with the board, the decals, and maybe the buttons you need to play it (usually in the more expensive kits). You'd have to build your own cabinet and wire everything together yourself.
