Help finding a file type

I have on my device a file named 'd0008_pl.6E171A6E'
According to a MHX file list, this is a .mss file, but I can't seem to find a way to decode it.
This is a file extracted by kuriimu from a MH4U .arc file. MH4U and MHX seem to have very similar file types, as a modding guide took out both with one guide.
Here is the file. d0008_pl.6E171A6E it is supposedly a sound file, as it is in the 'sound' folder of the .arc.
Has anyone heard of this file type before? VGMStream can't seem to open it.

Okay, after some searching I found that this is likely a .mss Miles Sound System file
VGSC can't open this though. It is also possibly not an audio file, but a sort of config similar to .stq.
What does not make sense is that capcom is licensed to use Miles in two games, neither of which are monster hunter series games. (Make of that what you will)
Anyone?
