Resources for Ripping PS1 Models?
#1
Information
Hello!!! I'm trying to rip models from a game called "Bust a Groove" to help one of my friends, since we can't find the game models anywhere online

I keep trying to find ways to rip the models but can't get a clear answer anywhere! so does anybody have resources for ripping ps1 models? I tried checking the guides featured at the top of this forum but I didn't see anything ps1 specific. Any advice is appreciated, I'm fresh into ripping things but I'm determined to crack this open

PS1 is also referred to as PSX, and there's a tool for it in the Project Organization board here. Never used it myself, can't advise on how to use it or if it'll work on your specific game, but it's a place to get started. Good luck!

Hey, I know it isnt a great way to do it, but you can try out the avocado emulator. it has a 3d screenshot function, and I have used it to restore many models. Not amazing, you wont get a clean model, and youll have to reset it to the tpose yourself and remove all the corruption manually, but you wont have to rely on your game using specific file types.

It's also worth mentioning that you can theoretically use NoCashPSX/No$PSX to extract 3D models from it. I have no clue how it works.
Also PSXPrev keeps failing on me too, good to know it's not just me. The only game I managed to take something akin to a model was LSD Dream Emulator.
other rippers like ninjaripper aren't even worth it since NR turned paid and last time I tried it, didn't work properly on neither PS1 (ePSXe, PCSX-Reloaded, Duck, different renderer and configuration tested for all) nor PS2 emulators.
