Questions about Model Submissions (models-resource)
#1
Question
Hello!

I have a few questions about submitting models,
I've been working on a side project that involves ripping SM64DS models. I have nearly all the enemies ripped with full animations at this point and noticed that the models-resource site was missing quite a few, and the existing models have some extra sharp edges added and other minor oddities.

For my own project, I made minor changes to the textures to make them game-accurate without having to set the texture to Mirror (It helps when I need to atlas a bunch of the textures in blender), added all the animations, and renamed the textures, models, and animations to be a bit easier to read.

I would genuinely love to submit a bunch of these models, but I have reservations about making a submission for a model that already exists, especially since I would only really be adding animation files which are considered non-essential for models-resource. (It would be a .dae + .fbx, the fbx contains animations)

What are the thoughts on resubmitting models for small changes/fixes, the thoughts on the image editing I mentioned earlier, and is it even worth going through the effort of submitting a model that includes animations?

Thank you!

Regarding existing models: For models that are already on the site, you are welcome to submit revisions to them to add animations or rigging. Animations may be non-essential, but we'll gladly accept them if they are ripped correctly.

Regarding UV changes: You are welcome to include a "fixed" version of the model in your submissions, but only if you include the unedited model and textures in the zip and clearly label the edited files so people know which ones were changed.

Thank you so much for the quick response!

Fantastic, this sounds like a best case scenario then. I appreciate the help with this
