Help ripping Crash Tag Team Racing models
#1
3D Modelling
Greetings,
I played this game when I was a kid, and I would like to learn how to rip assets from it. I already have some experience ripping models, such as when I extracted models from Mario Party: Star Rush using multiple tools to process a .3DS file. Now, I want to see if I can rip every hub and 3D platforming area from Crash Tag Team Racing.

Here are the steps I have taken so far:
  1. Obtained the PS2 ISO
  2. Extracted files from the ISO using WinRAR, which gave me RCF files
  3. Extracted RCF files using Dragon Unpacker, which provided P3D files
  4. Tried opening the P3D files with Lucas' Pure 3D Editor 4.5

However, when opening the P3D files in Pure 3D Editor, it recognizes the 3D meshes but cannot preview them. Exporting to OBJ causes the software to crash and exporting to Lucas' Pure 3D XML format somewhat works. However, when opening the XML files in Blender, many vertices form the correct shape, but half of them are in incorrect locations.
Additionally, when I checked the XML files in a text editor, I noticed that some vertices have NaN (Not a Number) values, which may be causing this weird behavior.

Do anyone here if there's a better tool to open .P3D files or if I should stick to a specific Lucas Pure3D version?

Thanks in advanced.
