Here's something that I'm playing with:
“Aymus Reind I was named,
Born the fifth day of May, a Saturday.
Blind eyes, shut the ties
Of the looking glass, sun shines off the pot’s brass.
If I may, just for one tick say,
You’re a most fair maiden, made then to walk in my chamber.
Quite an inquiry, to very so close, so surly.
A tight wire we walk, my fair maiden, so talk.
Tell me of why you have made your way by.
And of how I, though so tedious, may be serious.
Serious of topic and of mind, so through sifting we may find
What it is you so desperately, and vainly have come so warily
To the service of one so precarious, Only to find of me so various
A man that none may see, sit please my dear, have some tea.
I brew it myself of leaves brought, those the sisters once bought.
Pay no mind to my vanity, it’s stapled exterior less than my sanity.
I assure you, I am no foul beast as their sermons, never to cease,
Have painted such a morbid picture, as is their holy scripture.
The manacles that bind me make no mind you see.
I am not afraid of their hate, for within these black eyes I see the fate
Of all who walk the soil still, of revenge I will have my fill.
Though not today my child, so put your mind to the mild.
I’ve no intention of harming, and it is useless of me to be charming.
So you see, I am but a fount of knowledge now.
Take of me what you will.”
- Last recorded conversation between captive Aymus Reind and visitor Lilian Jemins before Aymus’ escape from incarceration in the Monastery of the Blessed Angel.
Dearest Lady Jasmine Semiah, of the Angels Graces,
It's well understood that you are the most wise of the women to walk the soil, and if any gain meaning of the message, it is you. This being must be found.
My lady, I would ask of you that this man is returned to the custody of the Monks here. He is a soul so dark that his taint must be purified before he dies, lest we worry another Reckoning. If it comes to nothing else, you have the Monastery’s consent to end the life of this creature, and to put down any and all who have come under his sway, as many are oft to do.
Similar messages were sent to Lady Remear and Effigy Master Szzterindeuss, as this is a matter of most urgency.
