You need to worry about making it less of a lazy C+P edit.

Explain please...
I understand but I can't sprite so good I'm great at ideas I just cant find the time to find easy sprite software. So I'm trapped with paint making the worlds dumbest sprites and only cheap editing...

Aerothraux is only one of them I have another called Ride Achilles (probably another crappy one)

A majority of people use paint, it's simple and effective.

You're also not going to make perfect sprites right away. It'll take practice.

You may want to try grabbing colors from sprites within the style you're aiming for. For example, if you're trying to create a Sonic sprite and you need a white or silver color, you might want to grab from the Tornado (Sonic's airplane, the one he's riding in the intro to StH3). This way, the color palette you're using is the one the style uses, so nothing looks strange or out of place.

But what they're really saying is that you need to make more changes to that sprite before it becomes "your" sprite, and not just a white Sonic with a Mega Man buster pasted on it. Play with the spines, give him a hat, add a trench coat, etc. Do something to make the character different. Make him stand out from all the other Sonic recolors out there (and there are a LOT, believe me).

I think he meant you take the colours of a sprite, set them in the corner of your pic, and use them to make your sprites, that you thought and that you invented, preferably not from an existing series. However, you can inspire yourself from different elements of different series... I hope I clarified.
