I never tried the Gamecube one because people said it was pretty bad.

I have Rings of Fate and Echoes of Time. they're pretty cute.
i prefer eot, even though i got a bit confused at the start. i mean, there's no certain THIS IS WHERE YOU'RE GOING, more of a "talk to everyone in the town until you figure it out" kinda thing.

Echoes of Time is totally boss, but about mid way through it the difficulty as a soloist spikes, and you'll either have to rely on team mates or the crushingly dense AI...

It worked a lot better in RoF cuz they actually tried to make the voices fit I guess? Also, RoF was more story based and focused a lot more on single player while the GCN one and EoT seem to be focusing on multiplayer and working together. Crystal Bearers isn't out yet but it's confirmed to be mostly single player gameplay again(a pattern??). I hate the artistic direction chosen in CB though, it looks way too mature and @Grooveman: Sometimes when I don't know what to do, I make my characters stand on top of each other and get a selkie on top and double jump up ledges just so I don't need to spend hours figuring out a puzzle, lol.

I've beat Ring of Fates and just bought Echoes of Time today. How laggy is the multiplayer?

Depends on how far away the other people are. Playing people in your own country has minimal lag, worldwide/bad connections has worse lag, but you eventually adjust to it.

i think playing with 4 people in the same room as you would be the same quality more or less compared to you and 3 ai characters in your party
ive never played rof or eot with friends so i wouldnt know. i really like the recruiting thing in eot though. i got the red mage in the town and the clavat on the map who wants 1000 kills. they come with amazing equips holy shit |
