i think its better than the older

i think it would help if he had knees
09-14-2009, 04:02 PM
Well, this was really just a test Sprite, I haven't really gotten any farther, so I can add knees
But I don't quite get what you mean...Do you mean the legs should be bent more, or just like a shading change?

lookin good, i like your stuff

It may just be me but I don't love the way Red is looking. He seems way too floppy and wimpy. Where's the masculinity and strong build of a pokemon trainer?!
Also the shading and colours are :V I made a quick edit cuz I hate explaining things. You can ignore it if you want.
09-14-2009, 09:37 PM
Well, the colors are from HG/SS, and that's the basic principle I have for the style, so I can't help that much, but holy crap, having him lean back a little, reshading a little here and there, making him slightly more bulky, and have a better pose makes this so much better...
The Style's also supposed to be somewhat simple, so the shading on the Jeans might change a little Also, if I make something somewhat similar to your pose (most likely will) do you want credit (Even though I'll most likely remake the body)?

I don't need credit. The colours aren't a big deal either. My main problem was how you made it look like he's leaning forward too much. He needs a more natural and up straight stance.
Great work so far though!! (09-15-2009, 01:59 PM)Champion Shawn Wrote: I don't need credit. The colours aren't a big deal either. He needs a more natural and up straight stance.Well, thanks to you, that's fixed now Anyway, I remade the body to look almost identical to Shawn's Edit, changed a few things with Red too, and Changed the shading around to kind of fit the "style's" shading: Also, I tried to start animating him, this probably won't be the final version of the animation because I think the legs should move, at least a little bit: Just a little side-note on the animation, I forgot to put the Pokeball on his side, that'll be fixed on the sheet

Looks great, a real improvement from the old one.
Also, i think his legs should 'smoothly snap' to a karate-like stance with the right leg bent more and the left leg straight but farther back. I hope that makes sense.

Something sort of like This? Well, the legs anyway...and flipped
I was planning on making the legs move more, and I wanted hem to lean forward as he points, so his legs in a 'similar' pose like that would probably work fine
Small Update to the 'Hero' Trainer Base, I made the legs move in the 'Attack' Animation, and I think it came out looking alright:
I'm also 'currently' remaking Munchlax, he should be done...probably by the end of the Weekend, or sometime next week, depending on when I finish working on the papers I have to write...But, I figured I'd keep you guys updated, and show that the Project's still alive Oh, and I'm thinking about using the 'Old' Attack animation (with the legs that don't move) for the animation to send out the Pokemon that isn't in it's Pokeball

So, I finally got enough free time to finish Munchlax:
That last animation (Where he plops down) isn't a new 'Sleep' animation, it's just for certain Stat Boosting/Healing moves, such as Rest, and maybe Curse, but for all other stat moves, the Special Attack will be used (Just like most of the other Pokemon in the Project).
