Yellow shouldn't be mandatory for all characters since it isn't a team colour like red, green and blue. So yellow, white and black could be any other colours, depending on the character.
Oh and what are we gonna do with Sonic? I felt his alternate colourings weren't very distinctive in Brawl. I don't think we should flat out go for green or red or such, as to prevent him from looking like one of the million Sonic fancharacters.

I say make his shades kinda be like other Sonic characters, like Knuckles Red, Tails Yellow, etc. HOWEVER, there are other characters who have gotten away with only SLIGHT shade changes (two that come to mind are Pikachu and Jigglypuff), but maybe it could be A LITTLE more distinct than it was in brawl, where it was just different shades of blue with small color changes to his wrists and shoes. But one reason why it works a little easier with Pikachu and Jiggly is the fact that they got additional articles of clothing that were more distinctly red, blue, green, etc.
Pikachu and Jigglypuff got away with it because they had accessories to differentiate themselves from other Pikachu/Jigglypuffs.

So should we give Sonic accessories as well as a slight colour tint? I like that idea more than the complete colour change, but I can't think of any for him.

You do know that not everyone needs an alt costume right? I think Tingle would fit under that category.
EDIT- I just looked at the first post and they have his normal clothes listed. I completely forgot he was wearing something different in that one game that was only released in Japan.
Yeah, Tingle wihtout his Tingle suit.
(Btw, the game was released in the UK as well.)

Yes give him the riders glasses in different colors. For his alt we'll give him his SA2 Battle alt costume.

Atts are just costume changes not full body makeovers.

Alts I mean "ALTS"
"Alts are just costume changes not full body makeovers."
That still doesn't make any sense. That only applies to Dry Bowser, at most.

He's talking about Sonic. Classic Sonic has a different anatomy.
And I still think Sonic's alt. colours should be from other characters in the series.
Red and Green for Knuckles, Orange for Tails, Black and Red for Shadow, etc.
That way, he doesn't look like a fan character because it's obviously based off a REAL character.
I photoshopped it a while back and everyone seemed to think it looked good.
For green, it could be based on Jet the Hawk or whatever his name is.
He's the only character I know of in the games who's green (aside from Vector but come on, they have completely different anatomy).

I thought that Ton said that the costumes were not going to be color changes but giving them costumes. Also that costume colors wouldn't represent another character such as Sonic - Shadow Costume.
It's in the first post.
