[WIP] Leon S. Kennedy Resident Evil 2 2D
#1
Don't post here much at all. Figured I would post a sprite I am currently working on so I can get some ideas/criticism.

First, I will preface this this first by saying I don't think I have skills as a spriter (I rip sprites instead of making them). That being said, I do try my hand at it every once in a while.

Here is my current work in progress of Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 2 in a 2D perspective.

I know the lighting needs some work. Do to inexperience, I can't quit figure it out. I am also trying to figure out how to add more detail to the pants in the back view. I am also missing the emblem on the back of the armor and the elbow pads/wraps.

The idea is to get a good front and back sprite to then work into animations. I would do a side view but I am uh making a sprite that just keeps looking awkward >_>. Trying to just focus on these since they seem to look somewhat decent.

I do like my current palette. I based the sprite off images of Leon in-game and the official art work. I don't think I need to be 100% accurate.

Anyway, some helpful input from either fans of Resident Evil 2 or actual established spriters would be greatly appreciated.

You can't link to an attachment from another board when the other board requires anyone who wants to look at the image to login (and in most of the cases here, register) to their board.

Oops, well let me upload to imageshack or something real quick. Sorry about that, though I don't believe you have to register, though I could be wrong. Our forum recently switch to SMF 2.0 so they may have made some other changes they didn't tell us moderators yet.

I don't see how does the "not 100% accurate" applies to this, but evenif you dont follow the character's desing exactly, you still need to keep some degree of proper anatomy in your sprite. as far as i recall, the police of racoon city never used baggy pants for a start.
