So I made those for a game my friends and I are working on. It's supposed to be like a revamped version of the old Dragon Warrior Monster games (yes I know DQM came out but it sucks), so I made the tiles simple to reflect that.
Edited with the blending tiles, as well as the Saffron Path.

Well first you'll need a 'base' tile. The type of terrain the area has. I'm going to assume it's a grassy area.
From there, you need to make tiles that connect to the grassy type, using it like border. It's hard to explain, so I'll use a visual aid from RPG Maker XP.

See how they have a basic grass tile, then use varations of the grass to create an 'edge' for the different type of terrain? Yeah.

Thank you, I think I'm getting the hang of this.
