You do know that not everyone needs an alt costume right? I think Tingle would fit under that category.

EDIT- I just looked at the first post and they have his normal clothes listed. I completely forgot he was wearing something different in that one game that was only released in Japan.

Both have appeared as separate characters (Dr. in Melee, Dry Bowser in Mario Kart Wii), so where's the line between different character and costume swap really? Dr. Mario is considered to be the same character because he's Mario alter-ego and Dry Bowser because Bowser was seen turning into him in New Super Mario Bros, right? This distinction might not be so easy with other characters / costumes, say we were giving a Shadow Mario costume for Mario...

Where are you going with this? You seemed to be raising a point, then effectively took that point back in the same paragraph.

That's not a costume. It's a completely different character.

I'm just wondering what cases can be considered a character change and what can't. Dry Bowser, again, appeared as a separate character in Mario Kart Wii but would he be considered the same as Bowser in this game (I realize he's on the list on the first page)? And Shadow Mario I talked about in my previous post is a different character in Mario canon (Bowser Jr.), but he shares the same physique with Mario and his design is effectively just a recolour of the plumber. So would Shadow Mario be allowed as a Mario alternate costume?

Shadow Mario wouldn't be allowed because Dr. Mario is already his alt. And really, Shadow Mario could be an alternate COLOR.

I guess. If we're going by the red, blue, green, yellow (some characters), white (some) & black (some) theme that was in Brawl, Shadow Mario could be either the blue or the black. And as black was black & white Mario in Brawl and I'd love to have Flying Mario from SMG as a colour, Shadow Mario should either be blue or an extra colour.

Would probably be a good idea not to be too strict about this though. Since they're simple recolours, we could have maybe 5 for ALL characters. Nah it's too early for that, no character sheets finished yet.

Oh and last question. Should alts have alternate colours? Wario did in Brawl.

Alternate colors for the costumes? That was intended, I think.

Which mean we need:
Two sets of Red
Two sets of Blue
Two sets of Green
Two sets of Yellow
And two sets of two other colors...
