quite honestly, Sonic Colors, although amazing for these various reasons I'm gonna list:
- Amazing music (as almost always) - Amazing graphics - Amazing atmosphere, being exactly the kind of colorful and beautiful world that I was expecting so long to see again in the franchise (literally, I always looked at art pieces of futuristic landscapes that had this same sort of art style and said "you know, this is what I think Sonic should look like") - Great concept of the alien powers - Many stages, each with their own gimmicks and enemies (like the classics) Sonic Colors would be perfect if it wasn't for this thing that I saw in the gameplay videos and really irks me: Takashi Iizuka. And his fetish for having a level design full of "rollercoaster" sections. By "rollercoaster" section I mean, imagine yourself on a rollercoaster. Are there split paths? No. Can you control a rollercoaster train if you're in one? No. Can you do anything other than just sit down and watch how fast and radical you're going through? No. That is my problem with modern Sonic games. If you try to gain control over the rollercoaster train, you're going to do things you weren't meant to, and you'll probably fall from it or get fucked over. And Sonic Colors seem to be full of these sections in which you don't control Sonic or his speed. I complained about Sonic 4's level design, but after I saw how the levels in Sonic Colors have just SO many dashpads and entire sections of the level that just drags you forward automatically, and remembered that in most new Sonic games have this, and then noticed that Sonic 4 has really few parts like that, Sonic 4 kind of gained a tad more respect from me, while my fear for what may be the final result of Sonic Colors increased a ton. And also, levels are seeming to be more linear than what I expected. From the first trailers and all, it is very easy to assume that there are many alternate paths and exploration to do, but I didn't see much of that from the gameplay videos I saw. I just really hope this is just me being paranoid and durr hurr. But really, in every other way, this game is almost perfect, so I really hope I don't find an unpleasingly easy game, with no challenges or replayability, and with the same piss level design of recent Sonic games. a slower paced level from colors rewarding players with speed for passing platforming sections? check it looks like this game will have a mix between high speed and low speed levels, which is great

I saw that video a while ago. Watching it again, it still looks incredibly fun. I think this just might be the one!

Plenty of games have a 'collect bonus item' mechanic; it's hardly exclusive to Mario.
OH DEAR LORD EVERYTHING LOOKS AMAZING. I don't even care if parts of this are 'rollercoaster', that's still fun as hell.

Tropical Resort Act 1 Tropical Resort Act 2 Sweet Mountain Act 1 Sweet Mountain Act 2 Planet Wisp Act 1 yeah, idk, maybe I was being paranoid earlier, now that i'm rewatching these videos, I see that there are tons of explorations in some stages, and tons and tons of cool features. Plus these are the first levels, the later levels should give more challenge on how to use the alien powers and should give more interesting level gimmicks. Thanked by: Vipershark

I played the DS version a bit at the gamescom, but it didn't really hooked me, but i think i'll give the Wii wersion a try.
I have to admit that Planet Wisp looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous (kinda reminds me of Sonic CD), and somehow i feel the urge to create a 16Bit look-a-like of it^^

Sonic's done a good job of being for kids but not making you feel bad if you were older in the past
Now it's just for four year olds I see Voices are weird but I mean compared to before they're much better so thank goodness

I personally think it has a little bit of "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" in it, which I appreciate. Anyways, SEGA specifically said this game would be for a younger target audience than its previous games. I just enjoy the simplicity of it.
