OH MY GOD What have I got myself into !!!
Anyway, this all I've manage to do so far The attacking sprites on the right were done using VSNES, one save state at a time. that 1000 years is starting to look more like a million years at this rate , but i'm trying to rip the characters without the weapons, I want to put the weapons on a separate sheet because there's loads of them.

I personally think that the tiles are the way to go with the main characters. They have SOOOO Many frames if you try to get every frame with every weapon, and then when you take into account that certain frames only happen a specific time in the game, or they happen at random based on when your character blocks or evades, it all becomes incredibly hectic.
As for that Superman pose, that's for the highest level of Sword tech. Takes FOREVER to charge, and then when it misses because the damn Mech Rider is too evasive for it you just want to pull your hair out. Quick edit: In regards to weapon ripping, you might find this very useful: 7EE19C08 - Allows the Boy character all level of special techniques no matter which weapon is equipped. You can rip just one weapon and all you have to do is get the palettes for the rest. For other useful cheats you can also check out where I found it: http://gamehacking.org/?s=v2&sys=6&gid=20

I'm starting to think your right. Well, I'm leaving it for today, gonna fire up Tile Molester tomorrow and have a bloody good go at it

So let me get this straight. Do all the weapons look the same, just different colours Because the weapon icons all look different ( see here http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/se...heet/31604 ) so I just assumed all the weapons would look different when equipped onscreen (if that makes any sense )
Because if that's the case, I'll just rip the characters in-game with all the attacks, then just add the palette swaps for all the weapons making things alot easier ( and quicker )

The weapons are different, the boomerang and the axe have at least two different forms. But as far as I remember, the majority of the weapons are recolours. One exception is the claw, which is invisible.
I would try the weapon orb code to be on the safe side.

I just let myself get roped into this after remembering how easy ripping some of the bosses can be with Vsnes. I already ripped Tropicallo, but I'm not uploading right this second until I have a few more. (I like to do them in one fell swoop)
I think I'll try... A more organized Mantis Ant sheet, Spiky Tiger maybe.. I forget what else is relatively easy to start with.

Unfortunately every weapon utilizes different arrangements of animation, and to make it even worse every weapon has 8 special moves that sometimes have unique animations and frames of their own. Also worth noting that several of the Claw animations make visible effects, like a Hadoken style fireball. There's also more elaborate frames like a spinning kick.

http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/8820/antagonists.png I will also finish the Mana Spirits and the Ring Menu, but I'm not doing the Moogles (Heros + NPCs). They are easy to rip, but I have enough work with the other two.
