The head looks flat on the sides with the outlines.

It would be better if it had more colors but I dont know anything.

I didn't spend too much time on this so yea, it has many flaws.

Seems a little jagged, and the shades look like they can be rounded out.

so add AA to it and fix my blue cause it looks weird. Fix the eyes and make the nose looks more like a Mario nose. Round out the ear a bit and it will look alright.

I'm not sure whether the outer anti-aliasing will harmonize with backgrounds.

I think the colors are too bright. Sure, you're obviously going for brighter colors than paper mario, but I'd say that they're a tad too bright.
The shading ion his hand looks weird... Okay, It's not actually shading, I guess. So, there should be some.
The back of tthe cap could be a bit rounder.

But it's nice overall :]
