A 2D Platformer that plays in 3D?
Um, those tend not to work for mechanical reasons; which would explain why there aren't many.
But sure:
Wow, I'm really bad at explaining things.

I meant a 3D platformer that's as good as a 2D one. Like SM64 or SMG, only more like traditional platformers.

Point being that there aren't enough good 3D platformers out there. 3D platformers have the potential to be better than 2D platformers, but they usually aren't.

Oh okay, I thought you were saying a 3D platformer that plays more like a platformer - focus on jumping from platform to platform and all, instead of heavy exploration like most 3D platformers were. Hence why I said Crash Bandicoot - because it's exactly like that.

SMG and SMG2 are the best 3D platformers out there, but if you want a breathe of fresh air, this one tries to approach the genre in a different way:

Yeah, that's what I meant. Unfortunately, I've never played any crash games, but I probably should.

That game looks really cool, though. I do personally like SMG1+2 as well, but those are only two games.

I own SMG, and me and my cousin played SMG2 together and we had a stinkin' blast (I helped him so many times XD) so the SMG games are two of the best Wii titles, hands down.

And Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Ahem what about DKCR?

RE: Non Existing Video Games You Would Love To Have - Vipershark - 04-30-2011

you seem to constantly forget that you're the only person who cares about donkey kong

RE: Non Existing Video Games You Would Love To Have - Koopaul - 05-01-2011

I don't see why.

Let me guess its because its starring a gorrila in a tie? I suppose you prefer games starring someone slick and blue who waves his finger.

How cool is that right? Because how "cool" or "cute" or "badass" the characters are is the most important part of the game.

Meh, everyone has their own opinions on what they like. I could really care less about the protagonist though so long as the game itself is fun.

Personally, I just didn't enjoy the old DKC games that much. Haven't played DKCR though.

RE: Non Existing Video Games You Would Love To Have - Koopaul - 05-01-2011

Well I always assumed it was superficial reasons. People see DK and see a big dumb ape. Maybe so, but that doesn't mean he isn't a fun lovable character.
Anyway the game is way better than the original in my opinion.

That's something we rarely get, comeback games that can top the original.

I can't think of any examples of a franchise getting revived and being better than it was before. That's what I want to see more of! Imagine a Comander Keen revival.

Ha! I brought it back on topic.

That is the most interesting looking game I've ever seen. Hmmm....

The video latest post that is.

Bear in mind that the Mascot Platformer is something of a dead genre now, perpetuated pretty much only by Nintendo (and Sonic Team). This is similar in the way that Scrolling shooters and beat-em-ups aren't commercially as popular any more.

If it means anything, I just never found the games fun. I didn't care what DK was, the games just never appealed to me. You know, this can happen with a person.

A game that doesn't exist that I want?
Pokemon MMO
More Dark Cloud games

Whoops dreams have already been crushed, how sad.

RE: Non Existing Video Games You Would Love To Have - Garamonde - 05-01-2011

Well Koopaul I'm just gonna get this over with. I played the original DKCs and I loved them. I've NEVER gotten to play DKCR yet but I want to eventually. I have no doubt it'll be great.

Also Kat you always say "if it means anything" but most everything you say means something, especially the way you listened and helped me. Smile
