RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Ton - 07-30-2012 Antlion. Well, I guess Pinsir, kinda... Ostrich? Pteradon? ...Robot? RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - A.J. Nitro - 07-30-2012 Ostrich: Doduo/Dodrio Pteradon: Aerodactyl Robot: I wanna say the Magnemite/Porygon family? RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Ton - 07-30-2012 Wasn't Doduo a Kiwi? RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Mutsukki - 07-30-2012 It's more of a Kiwi than an ostrich. Also Porygon is a software, or some virtual being, not a robot RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Tellis - 07-30-2012 Oh duh, someone mentioned robots as a base and I forgot to mention Golurk!? Okay, so he's based on mythical golems as well but he can learn Fly so he's totally a mecha. RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - EvilRaccoon9 - 07-31-2012 Loch Ness Monster...... Big foot?? RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - puggsoy - 07-31-2012 Gyarados and Lapras are both like the Loch Ness Monster (in certain ways). I wouldn't be surprised if there were players that named these Pokemon "Nessie" RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Goemar - 07-31-2012 Lapras yes but... Gyarados like Nessie? What version of mythology have you been following? Gyarados is more of a Hyrda (without the main body)/typical sea serpent beastie. Although DoDuo is very Kiwi-like I'd say it also has the Ostrich base covered. I'd love to see a more Ostrich based Pokemon (with a lance) mind. RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - puggsoy - 07-31-2012 Well OK Gyarados isn't really like the Nessie specifically, but I mean it resembles the general sea monster/serpent myth. RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Virtuaboy123 - 07-31-2012 Bush baby, chicken, earthworm, lemur, cockroach, termites, gazelles, and shrimp(sorry if someone already posted these). extinct- dodos, plenty of extinct mammals too. Mythical- kirin, bigfoot, mothman, griffin, and chupracabra(these are western mythical creatures though). RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Helmo - 07-31-2012 I always thought gyarados was based off of chinese parade dragons RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Goemar - 07-31-2012 (07-31-2012, 10:33 AM)Amon Wrote: I always thought gyarados was based off of chinese parade dragons It's rather odd that you go with "parade" dragons and not just the Chinese dragons the parade dragons are based-off. Water Serpents and Chinese Dragons (but in water) look close enough anyways. RE: Name Any animal that Pokemon never did. - Kami - 07-31-2012 Simple, Gyarados will be giving an evolution with legs and a bigger tempor and they will end up destroying everything. Abomasnow is based off of the abominable snowman which, if I'm not mistaken is essentially bigfoot. Also, the way the patrat line behaves in the wild screeches meerkat. Just have an Emboar and a Watchog in a team with a Luxray and hijinks insue. |
