RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - NinjaMan Z - 05-14-2015 I did Mephes, I guess. RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - The KKM - 07-19-2015 RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - Ton - 07-20-2015 Looks like a Duck Tales character. RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - Garamonde - 07-20-2015 I feel like the broken sel-out on the hair and mouth isn't doing the sprite any favors. Looks nice otherwise! RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - ZedKEios - 08-09-2015 How do you guys feel about pixel overs? I haven't really seen any mention of that in here and I've recently taken a few steps in that direction. Roaming Samurai pokemon trainer, based off of this. RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - DragonDePlatino - 08-10-2015 I couldn't have told at a glance that was a pixel-over, so it looks pretty good to me. The shading on the arms looks a little strange, however. They're not receding into the background very quickly, so there shouldn't be such a sudden difference in shading as they go into the sleeve. And now that I notice it, the proportions on this sprite look a bit strange. They look a little too realistic for something in Pokemon's style. For that reason, it is not very good practice to trace existing drawings to make your art. You will learn more slowly drawing this way, and it does not teach you how to pose and draw anatomy correctly. On the other hand, referencing a picture and copying the pose is very common practice, so I would try that instead. Just try your best to reference real-world photos instead of drawings whenever possible. If you reference other drawings, your art might have the same issues the original drawing had. RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 08-11-2015 this was too big, so i'll link it RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - Virt - 08-11-2015 On the running guy, the arm that's farthest from us should be more visible to help with the pose and silhouette. RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 08-11-2015 thanks, but silhouettes are for nerds RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - Virt - 08-13-2015 Further elaborating my point. I think it strengthens the overall pose (even though there are other things that could also help it) I also rotated the torso a bit to make the back arm make a bit more sense RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 08-16-2015 it looks like a nerd now i hate it !!! RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - StarSock64 - 08-16-2015 Um... I thought his post was one of the most sarcastic things I've ever read... Nobody who's actually angry puts three silly exclamation points on their own line That's his way of saying "thanks" RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - Gors - 08-17-2015 sarcasm doesn't go well over written text so I think that's a common mistake, I guess though it's good to think about others before using sarcasm - it could avoid those misunderstandings anyway i have this RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - JOE_HILL - 08-20-2015 Canti from FLCL. RE: Community Pixel Hut (General Sprite Thread) - Mag - 09-12-2015 I recently posted a tutorial on how to do pixel art over at Tumblr. Come check it out! |
