Is that the Phantom Train I see? Very Sad Looks amazing.

You know, I was thinking about the Kraken sprite that you posted here about a day ago, and then it made me think about the box art of one of the Adventure of Lolo games, where the evil boss character was drawn with a similar palette. Not the same mind you, it was an illustration rather than a sprite after all, but what it made me do is wish that boss was in this game. Now if I could only remember his name...

King Egger! That's what it was!... I felt compelled to look that up halfway through commenting. What a dork. xD

That doesn't look too bad for a first attempt at the style, DanKen. Though, do you think you could smooth out the animation of the first enemy rising out of the ground? If we implimented it now it would look kind of odd. : X
That's all the criticism I can give. I do have a minor gripe about the way you set up the grid, but it's nothing I can't fix myself.

Grey, don't worry about it. I understand you're busy. You people can come and go as you please, but whatever help you can offer is always greatly appreciated. Smile

Well, Tom, while I'm pleased you are impressed by the Phantom Train, I don't know if we'll include King Egger as we really don't know how we're going to put him into the storyline. If someone does end up making sprites of him, he'd most likely be relegated to an enemy specific summon or an npc or something along those lines.

Is it kind of open to make sprites for this? Because I'd love to attempt a King Egger in the style, just for the fun of it really, but it'd be cool to see him just pop up randomly somewhere. XD The only reason I've even seen the guy outside of box art is because of Nintendo Power walkthroughs... ooh, nostalgia.

Didn't you have a plan for a secret dungeon? That would be a good place to stick enemies that don't have a place in the regular storyline.

You may go ahead and sprite Egger if you really want to, Tom. This project is open for anyone to assist when they choose to.

I do have two planned, though they work on specific themes. We might be able to include him somewhere, but we won't know yet.

I'm gonna be real busy with school starting so I can work on my sprites for this later

That's fine, DanKen. Take your time with it. No hurry or worry. Smile

Grease.... monkeys?

RE: 2 Souls' Tale (previously named The Loving Couple's 8-bit Action/RPG) - Rosencrantz - 08-28-2009

so I decided to go ahead and sprite Marco (Metal Slug) in your style just for shits and giggles
[Image: MarcoMarcoMarco.png]
Left is the original sprite; Right is the "Oh crap I just realized I went waaaay beyond the size limit okay maybe I can fix this" sprite

although right looks like he's crouching compared to the left :/

it could be the grossly out-of-proportion arm in the right sprite, but let me know if you want me to continue this :>

RE: 2 Souls' Tale (previously named The Loving Couple's 8-bit Action/RPG) - SmithyGCN - 08-28-2009

Um, I think it might be a bit out of style as far as human character proportions go. I have nothing against you continuing this, however.
