RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Gussprint - 03-16-2013 And another preview, since I'm just starting to get everything up and running for this one. <-- Gotta test that equipment, yo~. Simply because RRS is right. I've got all tiles and relative SFX for both of them, so this should be a cakewalk. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Gussprint - 03-27-2013 And it's time for a new rip, fellas. Here's the ID! *Activates the computerized stereo. "Show Spirit"* plays in the background.* Bazooka Soldier [Metal Slug series] <-- ...Either that backpack really is a bottomless well, or it's just Yukari screwing with us again. The last thing you want to see in the middle of a large group of grenadiers. Sooner or later these guys'll shoot a shell at you with deadly accuracy, and you'll be too busy dodging 'nades to jump out of the way. And yes, this is from personal experience. Anyway, as you can see at the end of the sheet(And in the demo animation as well) there's a little extra. Inspired by an unused animation from Metal Slug 5(What a surprise, huh?), now the Rebel soldier can pull a 'zooka out at any time too. Heavily edited from existing sprites from both sides. *The Mission 2 BGM from "Metal Slug 4". Say what you will about the game itself, but DANG is the music good. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Ton - 03-29-2013 Will he go in every game, 1-6? RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Gussprint - 03-29-2013 (03-29-2013, 12:15 AM)Tonberry2k Wrote: Will he go in every game, 1-6? As well as MS7/MSXX, yes. They appear in all games, with the exception of MS5. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Ton - 03-30-2013 Saved! RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Gussprint - 04-10-2013 And it's time for some new stuff. But first, a disclaimer. *Activates the computerized stereo. "Like a dream come true"* plays in the background.* 1. First up, RandomRebelSoldier is the one who ripped all of this. All I did was assemble everything and organize the sprites in a sheet. 2. Second, none of these probably have the right palette. I scoured around for a good placeholder in that department, until we can find the proper palettes. With that said, here's the IDs. *Presses a button on the stereo. "BIOTOXIC"** now plays in the background.* Smasher [Metal Slug 6] <-- Crunch time. That's all I've got. And here's the first of the batch. These red thingamajuggers appear in the final mission, and attack by doing the following: Jump, spin their legs like a copter, hover above your head and inflate their belly. After that, THWOMP!! Bloody pulps as far as the eye can see. On the plus side, you can exploit them for massive point bonuses. Trust me on this. Walking Locomotive [Metal Slug 6] <-- Whoever concepted this thing should get a raise. Just sayin'. Found at the halfway point of Mission 1, and I effin' love it. Seriously, a train with legs. Can't get any more awesome than that. Anyway, this is basically an updated version of another rip over at the Database. Here's the scoop on it, copy-pastaed from the source. Me, over at MSDB Wrote:So what happened here is, I tried looking for a good placeholder palette, but couldn't find anything good enough. So I just pinced the palette from TMS' own rip, opened it up in Graphics Gale and adjusted its brightness a bit. After that, contrast all up in that beach. Not the most orthodox method, but hey, gotta do with whatever you can. Other than the palette, the only thing I've pinced from TMS' rip is the platform under one of the carriages. Mainly because those sprites are actually different from the platform sprites in the other games, and the batch of tiles I had didn't have it. *From "Persona 4". Can't go wrong with jazz, yo~. **The second Boss BGM from "Metal Slug 6". People say the soundtrack doesn't fit the series. Maybe so, but is it bad because of it? RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Ton - 04-10-2013 Great! I love Metal Slug's designs. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - RandomPerson78642 - 04-12-2013 What are you talking about, those palettes are perfectly legit. Heck, I'm amazed that you could match them so well. Nice work. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - RandomPerson78642 - 04-14-2013 Whoever uploaded these put them in the wrong game fyi. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Ton - 04-14-2013 Oh, dammit. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Garamonde - 04-14-2013 it's okay Ton. *pat pat* RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Gussprint - 04-16-2013 New rip coming up, fellas. This one's from yours truly. Shield Soldier [Metal Slug series] <-- I could pull a Most Shocking reference if I knew better, but nope. The definition of "playing it safe". The only thing those riot shields can't withstand is a grenade. Alternatively, you can wait up and these bozos will shoot at you, leaving themselves open. Also, that sword they hide behind isn't just for show, yo~. So getting up close isn't that recommended. ...Unless you're Ralf Jones, in which case you've probably punched 'em into next Thursday already. RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Garamonde - 04-16-2013 I think I'll let Tonberry get this cause he's uploaded to all MS games before. I'll get other stuff~ RE: Gussprint's Submissions - Take III - Ton - 04-16-2013 Does this guy skip any games, or is he in all of them? The only game they(As in, the Rebellion Army as a whole) don't appear in is MS5. |
