I love the story in both the Adventure games and the Sonic levels were pretty good. But then you had Knuckles which seemed to have really slow levels I didn't enjoy and the Tails levels in the first game were pretty lazy. The shooting levels (the robot guy and Tails and Eggman in Adventure 2) were also pretty lame in my own opinion.

In Adventure 2 there seemed to be very few Sonic levels. If they focused on Sonic, and Sonic alone, in the second game sure the story might be hurt a bit (though I guess Shadow could still be playable) but they could have really polished it up instead of just having lots of not-so polished different game types.

Oh and Big the Cat. Getting the high score thing, and then getting stuck inside a wall of ice thanks to a crap glitch and being unable to catch Froggy because you can't actually move really sucks. Maybe these types of glitches were fixed in later releases of the game but I've only ever played them on the Dreamcast.

Sonic Adventure 2 > Sonic Adventure.

The ONLY thing better about Sonic Adventure 2 is the music and maybe the bugfixes that were added to the physics system. And Shadow/Rouge.

Both are great games, but SA1 is by far better.

Metroid Prime Hunters, Buck Bumble, and Rayman 3...on GBA.

what

e: big, amy, and gamma were all terrible and anyone telling you otherwise is lying

more of a game that nobody played:

Makai Kingdom, only NIS/disgaea related game that hardly anyone has played.

the stories, levels, inclusion of hub worlds (not counting chao gardens) instead of a menu-based system, six different stories, better final boss, and overall feel of the game are better

RE: Favorite games nobody else likes. - Cobalt Blue - 04-05-2010

SA1 is more of a classic 3D adventure game, while SA2 works better as a 3D platformer.

talking about that, i don't see why would you hate Gamma's levels. i personally loved them and always wondered why they didn't use said system for a standalone game besides the SA2 equivalents(and if there is one i probably just don't know it)

they were really easy and really boring, which i guess is to be expected since you're supposed to be controlling some huge fuckoff robot killing machine (if i remember right, i didn't pay attention to any story besides the first three (and big, fuck big))

honest to god i didn't like any story besides sonic, tails, or knuckles because i didn't feel like they added any sort of significant detail. ooh we find out why there's a frog in chaos 6, that's about it. the other three stories just felt like fluff to extend the game time between the major stories and super sonic, especially big's. fuck big.

e: i really shouldn't be arguing this, i'm going by memory from a game i haven't played since i was 11. all sonic games are trash compared to unleashed. what a great game.

RE: Favorite games nobody else likes. - Cobalt Blue - 04-05-2010

i always wondered what they had in mind when they used something that could easily be a minor minigame like fishing into a whole 6-7 levels nightmare with a terribly slow and hateable character. though SA1 is so cheesy that even how the characters were animated in the cutscenes bugged me when i played the game for the first time.

regarding gamma's levels, yes they were easy, but i'd asume i loved them because i'm always biased towards action games.

People say that, but I hated the Big levels and the Amy levels. SA2 got rid of them. Gamma's were ok, but they were greatly improved upon in SA2.

RE: Favorite games nobody else likes. - Ultimecia - 04-06-2010

Yeah, I agree I had more fun in SA2 than in SA1. Amy was annoying and I've always hated big. Amy Rose team is the only one I refuse to play in Sonic Heroes (beating it once was enough suffering for me)

I still want a Sonic Adventure 3 where only Sonic is the playable character.
Maybe Knuckles too, but only to farm rings to get more lives. And no more freaking new friends.
