Wait a second. They're already making Episode 3? You can play as sonic, tails and knuckles at the same time? That sounds cool. I just hope they don't make it too similar with the Sonic 2 heroes hack on sonic retro.

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode: II - TGE - 05-08-2012

I wouldn't really think that, I'm sure they are finishing off Ep2 right now.

Don't underestimate sega. Sonic generations was in development even before sonicc unleashed was released.

Seriously, how would this be even possible? The game has a lot of elements from newer games, how the fuck could they have it planned since that time?

I don't know where you got this from, but protip: If it came from Sega, they lied.

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode: II - ~Axis~ - 05-08-2012

Not from sega. But from the Sonic News Network. Oh, I said sonic unleashed when I meant to say the Hedgehog engine. It was in development ever since the completion of the Hedgehog engine (as I read it, it would probably mean that the two game concepts were done at the same time).

So your source was the Sonic wikipedia editable by any one of the rabid fans?

Awesome.

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode: II - ~Axis~ - 05-09-2012

It's possible to plot 2 games at once you know.

What do you mean? THEY MAKE THEIR GAMES! THEY CAN EASILY MAKE 2 GAMES AT ONCE!

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode: II - TGE - 05-09-2012

Whatsup with Episode Metal? Is it a DLC?

And I find that Sonic moves very smooth in Ep2 but his homing attack is a little bit overpowered. Like if you jumpdash, you'll get tons of speed.
Yes, I downloaded Beta 8 Tongue

Please do, because I'm finding it hard to believe they would work on Generations the same time as Unleashed, when they hadn't even got a full grasp of the new speed-like gameplay yet, and were doing a second version of the game for the Wii (even if that was handled by Dimps).

Now, if you say that they developed this alongside with Colors (which is confirmed by most sources), then it's a completely different story.

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode: II - Vipershark - 05-09-2012

Uhhh
honestly i don't think it's really that hard to fathom
the game uses the same engine
In the -years- between the games, they easily had enough time to tweak features and add in new things
It's not like "hey guys let's make a sonic game that mixes old stuff with new stuff" is some kind of revolutionary concept that could only be conceived in the year 2011

RE: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode: II - Mutsukki - 05-09-2012

I guess I find it weird that they would plan so far ahead for an anniversary game with new and old gameplay when they hadn't even settled on something good and well done in the first place. But it's possible I guess, development times for big companies like Sega are bizarre sometimes.

I believe it's DLC for Episode 2 you get when for free when you own both Ep. 1 and 2.
