RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - tsr moderation staff - 11-04-2009 so because its swicthing three characters its a ripoff of pokemon trainer even though their movesets aren't remotely similar to pts and they have the counter thing? honestly? okay, that makes perfect sense. lets get another bland sword user with moves slightly different from the others RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - Kitsu - 11-04-2009 Really, the Heroes of Elibe is as much a clone of Pokemon Trainer as Lucario is a clone of Mewtwo. One shared move and a similar concept (mind powers). RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - tsr moderation staff - 11-04-2009 except cooler because lucario pretty much has a moveset made entirely out of other characters' moves and metwo is like ten times more badass RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - TomGuycott - 11-04-2009 Fire Emblem is one of the harder franchises to choose characters from, in my opinion. First of all, all the games USUALLY sport different heroes, with exceptions when remakes and sequels are made for very few games. Some end up tying in together in later games, too, but sometimes the focus shifts from one hero to another. Ultimately, Fire Emblem seems more like a popularity contest between the lords, with the exception of Marth, the one who started it all. The next problem is that lots of popular FE lords use swords. Not all, but lots. I know that one problem some people have is the addition of more characters who use swords, having seen opinions elsewhere where people go "This ain't Soul Calibur!", also citing that sword wielding heroes are kind of cliche. A counterargument to that is that some of the greatest heroic representations are sword-wielding heroes. My support still goes for Lyn or the Heroes of Elibe. I'm sure I WOULD have voted for Micaiah for the sake of A) Avoiding a sword wielder and B)Avoiding this 3 character thing that seems to popping up (and which I kinda support), had I more knowledge on her, but I don't know that much about her. How popular is she? I never played the Wii FE games. What attacks does she use? How does she act? Sell her to me! xD I am also willing to bet that there aren't many other main characters that use magic. :/ One other small SMALL case against Micaiah is the fact that she and Ike stem from the same part of the Fire Emblem universe, but if one were to make that arguement, the same can be said about having the Heroes of Elibe as one character. In fact, in that case it would be a much stronger argument, because there is a third character from that part of the FE universe. It is REALLY hard for me to decide who deserves the most support. I just have a bias for the Elibe trio because they are from the game in the series I actually have, the first international release. I'm trying my best to show some objective criticism on several sides, though, so let me wrap up: Micky: She's a magic user, a girl, a main character, that's a plus! At the same time, is she well liked? Are her abilities cool? Will she combat with Zelda's regular form for the title of "girliest magic user"? Elibe dudes(and dudette): Pretty awesome lord representation with potential for a bow wielding sword wielder, an axe wielder, and a horse-riding sword/javelin wielder. The con is that that's TWO sword wielders, three characters from the same game, and a rip-off of Pokemon Trainer. Lyn alone: A lady, an FE lord, kinda looks like Marth and Zero Suit Samus fell in a blender with some green food coloring. The bad news is it's another sword wielder. There are ways to make sword wielders unique, though. Lyn can be samurai style, Marth can be prissy prince style, and Link can be... Link style. Of course! Ponder them thoughts and discuss! RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - Alpha Six - 11-04-2009 it seemed like you had a viable subject in this and then it just kinda faded into rambling RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - GaryCXJk - 11-04-2009 In my opinion, it should be best to avoid using two characters as playable characters from the same continuity altogether. So far, Marth, Roy and Ike don't share the same continuity. However, Roy and Lyn do, as well as Ike, Sothe, Black Knight and Micaiah share one. It would be fair to give another continuity a chance. RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - Alpha Six - 11-04-2009 What continuity, then? Because you pretty much just ruled out EVERY character. Heroes of Elibe was created to replace Roy. Eliwood is meant to replace Roy, and then adding both Lyn and Hector into the mix. Gary, as much as I'd like a rep from each continuity, it's not likely to happen. Marth's continuity includes the first three games, then there's Fire Emblem 4 and 5 who no one has played (Including myself) because of them being strictly in japanese. Fire Emblem Sealed Sword and Burning Blade currently has Roy, who I'm trying to replace with the main characters from Burning Blade. Then there's Sacred Stones, which is an entirely different continuity all together (and I doubt it's the most popular game in the franchise, too.). Tellius Saga has Ike, and the latest one is a retelling of Marth's first adventure. Meaning, if we were to choose another rep from a different continuity, we have two games that no one has ever played, and Sacred Stones, which just isn't memorable. RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - Ton - 11-04-2009 I'm so sick of talking about FE, haha. It'll just hurt my head. RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - Kairos - 11-05-2009 Ton, pick one from a hat or something idk. :V RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - tsr moderation staff - 11-05-2009 why, everybody except like 2 people want heroes of elibe? RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - rukifellth - 11-06-2009 I choose Micaiah, why? Because she got a design different from most of the cast. That, and I can seriously imagine her with Metaknight in a sort of SubSpace Emissary adventure. (Same would go with having Wario and Stafy team up someplace) RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - Nazo Unleashed - 11-08-2009 you should add lyn or lye...i forget the one with green hair i know that for shure RE: Fire Emblem character suggestions - Kirby98 - 05-21-2011 Chiki, Sheeda, Linda, Rena, Nina, and Lyn are my favorite fire emblem gals! |
