I use a simple, yet outdated Frontend called "Let's Mednafen". It's a small gui, that makes Mednafen very easy to use. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Techokami - 06-18-2012 So I just had a "DUH" moment... I could just use an older version of MAME. Well! Currently working on Aero Fighters enemies. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Maxim - 06-18-2012 Ai Cho Aniki: This is actually the real boss of stage one, this Adam guy i posted above is just a sub-boss. Since this is one of these obscure Japan-only games, there is no information online about the enemy names, so i have to use boring descriptions. Let me know, if you have a better name for a Train with a face, that hurls semi-nude men at you, by having them jump from a raised platform on a trampolin on the train's back. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Ton - 06-18-2012 Dazz might know them. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - TomGuycott - 06-18-2012 Dazz LIVES them. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Ton - 06-18-2012 Best post ever. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Techokami - 06-18-2012 Wait so this isn't amazing? :< I said "hey looks like I can actually rip this" and a few hours later I deliver the gooods EDIT: I was going to grab some raw materials from Aero Fighters 2/Sonic Wing 2, but F4 in MAME does nothing! AAAAA HOW DO I NEO GEO RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Ton - 06-18-2012 Nice work! RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Dazz - 06-19-2012 Oooh err, name wise with Cho Aniki I only really know the main characters.. Bosses are a mystery. Though I seem to recall there was a stage with a train with a face in one of the games. Uploaded everything up to this point! except rgveda99's rips... What game are these from? There's no credit tag or anything... But I don't know if it's the Arcade or SNES version, since I've never played the game before. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Dolphman - 06-19-2012 Arcade version due to being bigger and more detailed. I too find ripping arcade games frustrating. Just piecing together everything, finding the right palettes, and most annoyingly, black backgrounds. Always wanted to rip Battletoads, but MAME can't open the tile viewer on it. On the topic on shoot'em ups. anybody played Raptor: Call of the Shadows? That game has some nice looking sprites. If only there was a way to get into the files. It's for DOS, Windows, iPhone, and Mac OS. RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Davy Jones - 06-19-2012 Quote:and most annoyingly, black backgrounds.Use wrong colours to get the outline and paste the correct palette over it. Then you recolour the outline back to black. For Raptor CotS -> already tried some PC tools? http://www.spriters-resource.com/community/showthread.php?tid=13653&pid=310162#pid310162 RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Techokami - 06-19-2012 Another Aero Fighters rip! Because I can't start on Aero Fighters 2 until someone answers my question about viewing/extracting Neo Geo graphics. EDIT: Managed to get Kawaks going! Oh holy shit the graphics are fucking evil in here. NOPE NOT GOING TO ATTEMPT THAT MESS, time to pick a new game RE: Sprite Ripping Project 5: _____-em-up! - Magma MK-II - 06-19-2012 Use WinKawaks. Anything Neo-Geo/CPS1/CPS2 must be ripped with it. And if you can't get along with the tile viewer, use the shots factory.
