I never knew he would ever get into Smash until several days ago when he was announced as the next DLC fighter. XP (PS. RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Random Talking Bush - 10-31-2020 Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon: Glutton Train Focalor Valac Tilesets Map Screens Was expecting to have a lot more from this game ripped in time for today (Halloween), but this is all I managed to get done as these took a lot longer than expected. I'm definitely not done with this game -- I'll have a lot more later! (EDIT: Sneaking Valac into this post a day late, since I had almost finished his sheet before yesterday's update.) RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Deathbringer - 11-03-2020 How are you ripping the game? These look too good to have have been jigsawed together like I had to do for Valefor. RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Random Talking Bush - 11-03-2020 (11-03-2020, 09:20 AM)Deathbringer Wrote: How are you ripping the game? These look too good to have have been jigsawed together like I had to do for Valefor. That's actually what I've been doing in the first place! The important thing I've learned when ripping these is that the "normal map" image (basically identical to the respective sheets, except that it's a dull yellow) that always dumps when you use NinjaRipper alongside the respective sprites retain the original sprite tile boundaries, which can be seen if you remove the alpha channel from those. Once you've merged that with the original sprite sheet, you can spot the sprite pieces and their tile boundaries more easily, since all the used space is now properly marked. Almost all of the sprites are sized to multiples of 8 pixels like usual (though I've found a few exceptions to the rule), however, the sprite pieces always have a one-pixel border around them which needs to be removed (so in other words, a 24x32 chunk is actually 26x34), but at the same time it also acts as a guide of sorts since any sprites that are split into multiple pieces will have one row or column of their adjacent pieces in said border. But once that's all done, the result should look something like this: Naturally I've already got Gremory's sprites here pieced together and sheeted, I'll be submitting the full sheet after Bloodless and Bathin (but before Zangetsu, since I'm uploading them in sequential order). And speaking of, just finished Andrealphus not too long ago: Andrealphus RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Deathbringer - 11-03-2020 You do know Gremory has a 2nd phase and those were like 3 seperate textures, right? Also all I ones I got didn't put stuff in boxes, unless DDS Converter messed that up. RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Random Talking Bush - 11-03-2020 (11-03-2020, 02:05 PM)Deathbringer Wrote: You do know Gremory has a 2nd phase and those were like 3 seperate textures, right?Absolutely, that's exactly why I hadn't uploaded Gremory's sprite sheet earlier. I've basically been dumping sprites every few seconds as I was playing through, so I shouldn't be missing anything. I just figured the first phase's sprite set would be a good starting point and example since there weren't nearly as many sprites/pieces to work with. The second phase is definitely going to take me at least two or three days to assemble. And try using Noesis to convert the DDS files to BMP, that's the quickest way I found for removing the transparency. Doing so should give you an image like this, and applying that to the original sprites and adding the bounding boxes, the result should look like this. Combining this with a recorded fight via AnimGet made for (basically) smooth sailing with assembling these. (EDIT: And Bloodless is done! Three more to go now.) Bloodless RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Deathbringer - 11-04-2020 Ok, I have to mess with the cycle blend in Noesis to get the boxes. Wait, how do I export it while keeping the boxes intact? Nevermind, looks like TiledGGD can open the DDS and gives the silhouette and boxes different colors. http://prntscr.com/vdc556 For the record, the correct setting is Little Endian but that just gives the solid color. RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Random Talking Bush - 11-06-2020 Okay, you know how I said that Gremory's second phase was going to take me the longest to rip? You haven't experienced the nightmare that is trying to separate and piece together a pair of visceral explosions from four idiots with extremely high blood pressure -- it took me an entire day just to piece together the splatter effect accurately. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon Bathin (EDIT: And seeing as how you're working on the enemies, I'll leave those up to you, but I've got dibs on the playable characters afterwards.) RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Deathbringer - 11-07-2020 Gremory will still take the longest if you're going by animations as she has special death animation when fighting her with just Zangetsu, plus her normal ending sprites. I've seen Zangetsu's tileset, you can have the playable characters. I'll do as much of the enemies as I can but the stage 9 enemies might be an issue. But yeah, Gremory. She actually took me less time to assemble than Bathin... specifically because 75% of her tileset were her wings, which were pretty straightforward to assemble. Go figure. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon: Gremory And yes, I know she returns in Curse of the Moon 2, I'll submit a separate sheet for that game someday later. (EDIT: Just learned that Curse of the Moon 2 doesn't do that "normal map / tile boundaries" thing compared to the first game, and now I'm glad I'm leaving that until later.) RE: Random Talking Bush's Sprite Showoff - Deathbringer - 11-10-2020 It's mostly 2 of the sub-bosses (the fire demon and the not-Dullahammer), they have a lot of small pieces to go through. |
