RE: Toon Link - Wes - 12-15-2009 OK, so if we're using the shield to block, then he'd look more like this. Far right. RE: Toon Link - DanKen - 12-15-2009 Lookin really good Wes. RE: Toon Link - Koopaul - 12-15-2009 Maybe this will help you guys out. Sorry these are the best Snapshots I could find of his idle. RE: Toon Link - HyperSonic92 - 12-15-2009 Sneeeeky Toon Link. Also Wes, loving the new sprites RE: Toon Link - Koopaul - 12-15-2009 As you can see Toon Link holds his sword down. RE: Toon Link - Wes - 12-15-2009 Yeah, I made an update. Rotated the body a bit, so that it's more from a side view. Sword is now down. Gonna work on the sneaky face later, I couldn't get it to look right. Bottom row. I dunno, his stance seems very awkward. It's probably the legs, which I will mess with more tomorrow. RE: Toon Link - Ton - 12-15-2009 Try doing him from the other side. RE: Toon Link - Cshad - 12-15-2009 Camera angle puts the legs in a position like that I wouldn't try to duplicate it RE: Toon Link - Ton - 12-15-2009 He looks pretty bad with the shield covering his whole body. I'm trying to think of a way around that. RE: Toon Link - Chaoxys - 12-15-2009 What if we make it so that, unlike Link, he only uses it defensively when ducking? Just a thought anyways. RE: Toon Link - Ton - 12-15-2009 I'd be fine with it, but some people would freak. We can't be expected to duplicate everything 100% though... RE: Toon Link - JoshR691 - 12-16-2009 For the stance, I was thinking something along the lines of this: http://sheezyart.com/art/view/1881795/ (Try to notice the stance, not the year-old sprite, or the choppy animation) RE: Toon Link - Koopaul - 12-16-2009 Both Toon Link and Link turn their backs against the screen when facing the oposite direction. The arm holding the shield is always extented and the shield always straight forward. The shield never covers the body. RE: Toon Link - Wes - 12-16-2009 I know this all already. This is the problem I saw when I first started working on Toon Link. I didn't want him to face away form the screen since that would look bad, seeing the back of his head. Josh, that stance is fine for facing left. Facing left won't be a problem. I'm just trying to get him to look good facing right. But if we don't want the shield to cover his body, he'd have to face away from the screen and we'd be looking at the back of his head. Yeah so this kinda sucks. Redid a lot. The body was an edit, but the legs, arms, and the entire head are all brand new (except the eyes). And I really don't like it, but whatever. Bottom right. Also I forgot the sheath. Oh well. RE: Toon Link - GaryCXJk - 12-16-2009 koopaul, we also fairly early decided that only certain characters would get the side view treatment, and that most characters would get a 3/4 treatment. This was all to AVOID seeing ones back. |
