RE: E3 Fread - Azure-Tranquility - 06-13-2011 GameCube was $200/$150 at first, but it dropped in price quite quickly... I recall one of the big deals of E3 2003/2004 being the GameCube's price drop to $99.99 ...of course it was ackward in 2004 when the DS came out and was like $150. RE: E3 Fread - Marth - 06-14-2011 I'll be honest while 250 bucks currently way out of my price range seeing as I'm currently unemployed it doesn't seem like it's all that steep of a price. RE: E3 Fread - Azure-Tranquility - 06-14-2011 Considering Sony is selling the Vita at a loss for the next few years... man they really sacrificed to compete with 3DS. A bit much, if you ask me... Like, it's great for me if I wanted to buy a Vita (and I don't), but it doesn't seem like a very smart move on Sony's part. They're dropping a lot of money really fast with this. Unless it sells like hotcakes (and considering the PSP's legacy that would be asking a bit much) I think Sony's just gonna fail here. RE: E3 Fread - Woppet* - 06-14-2011 Well they sold the PS3 at a huge loss. And look at how that worked out for them. They effectively snuck a Blu Ray player into 50,000,000+ households. And guess what happens every time you buy a Blu Ray disc, player, or burner? Sony get a percentage of the profit. If the PS3 never existed, do you really think Blu Ray would be at large? It would most likely by HD-DVD instead. I seriously doubt they're selling PSVs at a loss just to compete with the 3DS. Sony know what they're doing when it comes to business. RE: E3 Fread - Marth - 06-14-2011 what's even out for the 3ds or Vita currently that's worth getting? I mean all I see for the 3ds are tech demos with alot of good games announced but no actual release dates. I may have to refrain from buying one until something other thatn OoT3d comes out. RE: E3 Fread - Vipershark - 06-15-2011 /currently/ the only 3ds games worth getting are SSIV Ridge Racer 3D Ghost Recon Dead or Alive and pilotwings, if you can find it cheap (since it's really short) RE: E3 Fread - Kosheh - 06-15-2011 (06-14-2011, 10:12 PM)Zero Kirby Wrote:but keep in mind you're not only going to buy a vita, heh(06-14-2011, 06:30 PM)Liquid Cake Wrote: Considering Sony is selling the Vita at a loss for the next few years... man they really sacrificed to compete with 3DS. you're probably going to buy games, too Sony makes profit off of the game sales, first-party SCE titles - God of War, LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, [Infamous?] etc. - huge profits, and that's where they rake their monies in. They're actually enough to more than compensate for the losses per console. You can't own a PS3 without buying at least one game, whether it be on PSN or in a physical store. And who the hell seriously has ONLY ONE GAME for their console nowadays? profits profits everywhere they've always relied on this method actually; in fact microsoft and sony both sell their consoles at a loss as the sales of games easily compensate. Nintendo's the only one out of ~The Three~ who actually make profits selling their consoles. when people joked that the DS printed money they were pretty spot-on RE: E3 Fread - ZaeTelapo! - 06-15-2011 (06-15-2011, 02:23 AM)Kosheh Wrote:(06-14-2011, 10:12 PM)Zero Kirby Wrote:(06-14-2011, 06:30 PM)Liquid Cake Wrote: Considering Sony is selling the Vita at a loss for the next few years... man they really sacrificed to compete with 3DS. Yep. I think the DS has sold so well it can even compare to ps2 sales, which is pretty immense on its own. Although I'm wondering if Sony altogether has done well since ps3 and psp don't sell near as well in America(Europe, some other places) as they do in Japan, and I mean the price comparison is an enormous gap last time I checked and I'm sure sony lost quite a bit of their fandom when the network crashed and people lost all that information. So with that in mind that makes me curious on where that leaves Vita and its future sales. RE: E3 Fread - GaryCXJk - 06-15-2011 You know, I seriously don't care what others think, but I'm getting Vita. Hopefully there will be a new Monster Hunter for that. Also, most exciting news for me was Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension. RE: E3 Fread - Gwen - 06-15-2011 Phineas and Ferb, yuck and no thank you. Although that Lego game did come close, and drawing penises on Nina's face sounds pretty tempting. RE: E3 Fread - Azure-Tranquility - 06-15-2011 (06-15-2011, 04:59 PM)GaryCXJk Wrote: Pretty much. RE: E3 Fread - Iceman404 - 06-17-2011 Forgot who said it earlier, but it's confirmed that the Wii U can use multiple controllers, but since the price may be high, it's recommended to only buy one so not to overwhelm the buyers.
