RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-04-2016 So, bigger eyeballs then? I also started on the Koopa's shell. RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-05-2016 Darking over on MFGG suggested that I work with Mario just a little bit more. Besides wrapping up my base Goomba, I also made some more parts for the Koopa to see if the shell sticks out too much in the front. Before you bring it up, the arms and head are only placeholders. RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-06-2016 Here's another development regrading my Goomba. I would have used the wing shapes from the actual paper Paragoombas, but I decided to base it more on the regular Paragoombas instead. I also provided three pattern ideas for the wings, so you can choose which one will look best. Anyway, if you're fine with the color I've chosen for Goombario's skin tone, I'll see about working on him, too. By the way, do you think that I made the pupils a bit too large? RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 05-06-2016 I think the pupils are fine... But I see it now... Feel that on the official Goombas, their eyebrows are lower and sharper making them look angry, yours could benefit from trying to make them look angrier RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-06-2016 What if I keep the original eyebrows and make another set that expresses their anger? Just a thought. RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 05-06-2016 (05-06-2016, 08:56 AM)E-Man Wrote: What if I keep the original eyebrows and make another set that expresses their anger? Just a thought. Sure, it feels that a goomba's neutral face is angry, true goomba rage would be Goompapa with his gate broken RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-06-2016 (05-06-2016, 09:07 AM)Hiynastrike Wrote: true goomba rage would be Goompapa with his gate broken Now that is the kind of comment that really lightens up my day! I created the angry eyebrows, but I also included a demonstration of how I would achieve angry eyebrows with the normal ones. Also, I got a comment on MFGG to shrink down the pupils a bit. By the way, before I conclude this post, here's the base "sketch" for a certain spook. RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-07-2016 I've got some more progress for Mario, the Goombas, and the Koopas. For the Koopa, do you think that scaling the head up would do any good? RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 05-07-2016 That goomba looks great! Now... That Koopa's shell could be horizontally thinner... Seems a bit portly RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-07-2016 I'm sorry to tell you this, Hiyna, but SuperArthurBros beat you to the punch on that one. By the way, even though she'll not appear in the first short, I decided to start on Princess Peach. Since female anatomy is tricky, I expect this to take a fair amount of revisions. RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 05-07-2016 I can help you with that... I KNOW FIGURE DRAWING The trick to women is they have a different rib cage (it's more diagonal) and they have larger hips (a larger hole in the pelvis) ultimately women are smoother in anatomy as opposed to the rather square and angular male figure RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-07-2016 Those are some good points you made; however, I'm just afraid of going a little overboard with those two factors. For certain female characters that are supposed to be more cute than sexual, my mindset is to not exaggerate the ribcage and hips. Despite the fact that I see paper Princess Peach as a more "cute" character, I did play around with how I interpreted your ideas anyway. I also started on some additional Goomba parts. By the way, is it just me, or is the spike helmet a bit too low? RE: Paper Mario animations - Hiynastrike - 05-07-2016 I feel the best way to offset it is to give her a poofy dress... It will cover or obscure Peach's body RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-08-2016 There are some scenes where I plan to have Peach wear something else other than her dress, so I would like to achieve a good balance with her anatomy if possible. In any case, I'll keep playing around with it until I get it just right. Anyway, how did I do on these? RE: Paper Mario animations - E-Man - 05-09-2016 Hey, you wanna know something funny regarding my attempts at nailing Peach's anatomy? Apparently, instead of not getting the anatomy right, Mit mentioned that my anatomy is too "correct" for something like Paper Mario. XD What do you think of this new attempt? |
