RE: Toon Link - Koopaul - 02-11-2010 Still the arms look more natural now. You can flip the sprites easier. RE: Toon Link - Ton - 02-11-2010 I wouldn't mind using the side-face if we want to use the shield that badly. RE: Toon Link - Chaoxys - 02-11-2010 I was wondering, would it be possible to have a frame/frames where he's holding out the shield, and have it so if a projectile hits him on a certain predetermined area, he will hold up his shield, and the rest of the time he holds it down. Honestly though, he just doesn't look as toon like facing to the side. Not sure why. RE: Toon Link - Wes - 02-11-2010 I think he could have slightly different mechanics. Link would be like he always had been, stopping projectiles during his idle. But Toon Link wouldn't stop them in his idle, but instead when he's crouched. When he's crouched, Toon Link would hold his shield up (like he already does in Brawl). But projectiles would reflect off of his shield instead of just being stopped by them. So it's a downside of not being used automatically, but an upside of having it reflect. It's add variety between him and normal Link while still keeping the same game mechanic there. RE: Toon Link - Ton - 02-11-2010 Oh. Well screw it, let's go with 3/4 then. That's because it wasn't edited properly. Needs more work and it'll look better. The thing is that this isn't just about the shield mechanic. I'm thinking ahead when the time come to animate Link. There are various attacks and moves that won't look right or work right if he's facing 3/4. My main concern is for him to get that sword to swing right. RE: Toon Link - Ninspriterx - 02-13-2010 Very true. We'll still need to perfect the side view for attacks, but I'm sure we'll still stick with the 3/4's for the idle. RE: Toon Link - tsr moderation staff - 02-13-2010 i agree with koopaul here. it just creates unnecessary problems if he's in 3/4. plus, you guys have to remember that people barely notice stuff like this ingame. a shoddy animation often looks fine in action and the same principal applies here, especially to the idle seeing as you barely see it compared to the other animations RE: Toon Link - Iceman404 - 02-14-2010 Why is the leg closer to us darker? RE: Toon Link - Blitz - 04-04-2010 BUMP! I did some editing. RE: Toon Link - D2S-Speed - 04-04-2010 Personally, I like the new Toon Link. RE: Toon Link - Locked Achievement - 04-05-2010 Im loving it! RE: Toon Link - Wes - 04-05-2010 All you did was move the way the shield and sword are being held. And the hair is pretty blocky when facing left. I also dislike how the shield covers him when facing one way but not the other. It should either cover him both ways or neither. That's either pity or filler. Don't post to post. Post to help. |
