RE: Costumes - Koopaul - 10-21-2009 Well I actually agree with that rule (for once) In Brawl when Wario changes his costume he's still Wario and not someone else. We're following that example. RE: Costumes - tsr moderation staff - 10-21-2009 yeah but thats the only example. that would be like if someone played a smash bros beta that only had mario and assumed that everyone will have the same moveset because of it. RE: Costumes - Ton - 10-21-2009 (10-21-2009, 05:38 PM)Thermic Wrote: seriously, why the hell can't costumes be other characters? there was only one in brawl so we can't infer much from that and all it seems to be doing is making things more annoying when picking costumes. it just seems like a random rule ton pulled out of his ass I did. But that's because it would annoy me to win a match with Funky Kong only to have the game say "DK wins!" But if we change the names, we've essentially made a new character. RE: Costumes - tsr moderation staff - 10-21-2009 except not at all. also thats a super nitpickey reason. you should at least put it to a vote RE: Costumes - Ton - 10-21-2009 Yes. If we have a Funky Kong skin who plays just like DK and is only Funky in name only then we get into the whole "Wtf why are there so many clones?" argument all over again. This way we can avoid that and have some nice alternate versions of the characters who are already in there. RE: Costumes - [robo9] - 10-21-2009 (10-21-2009, 09:30 PM)Tonberry2k Wrote: Yes. So they would essentially be a creative expansion, but be dismissed as costumes of thechar. RE: Costumes - Ekoi - 10-22-2009 I'm going to agree with Ton on this one. Those kinda of costumes will just make for stupid results, really. To give you an idea, it'd be like changing the Sonic's texture in Brawl to look like Shadow. The idea is nifty, but when you see it being played in-game, it looks really freaking retarded. They are different characters, not recolors. Leave the recolors to the likes of Daisy and Dark Link. RE: Costumes - Zoo Monkey - 10-23-2009 How about the floral T-shirt and sun glasses mario gets in super mario sunshine? (I'm Borrowing my friends SM Sunshine soon so I'm thinking about it all the time) RE: Costumes - Kitsu - 10-25-2009 So, do recolors not count as costumes? Because, there's been Blood Falcon as a Captain Falcon recolor since 64, not to mention 64 and Melee both had Wario recolors for Mario. RE: Costumes - Ton - 10-25-2009 No, recolors don't count... which is part of the problem with Captain Falcon. This is all I can think of. :\ RE: Costumes - Ton - 10-25-2009 Would definitely work. RE: Costumes - Alpha Six - 10-25-2009 Has Captain Falcon always had the same outfit? RE: Costumes - tsr moderation staff - 10-25-2009 isn't blood falcon a different character? hmmm? HMMMM? RE: Costumes - Kitsu - 10-25-2009 (10-25-2009, 11:26 PM)Thermic Wrote: isn't blood falcon a different character? hmmm? Ton said that doesn't count, since it's a recolor, not a costume. @Tyvon, if I'm correct, he has indeed always had the same outfit. |
