Though maybe not the oldest thing around, Koopaul's should be Osamu Tezuka's Princess Knight. Tezuka's classic! And Princess Knight is awesome.
EDIT: Oh, or Uran, like Gaia said! Uran's a bit more recognizable, buuuuut, I like Princess Knight more so, yeah.
