I used photoshop with my tablet
All I do for the filters is just paste an image on another layer and then erase around it until I get the shape I want.

.o/It's funny because I genuinely do feel like I am getting better too. Not perfect yet, I still can't draw most things right unless it's at a somewhat comfortable angle and I can't seem to draw Axle yet (as you can see, lol) but I actually feel like I'm not so bad anymore. I think I am getting decent at drawing hands already, too.
But just so you know, the only reason my lines are as they are now is from lots and lots of ctrl + z, erasing and re-drawing different parts of the lines.

I would like to figure out why I can't even use any of the tags automatically because it's becoming a pain to put in the tags manually.
oh, and I have other stuff I made over the past few months, however I haven't gotten around to scanning, or uploading some of them yet.
