I only have a wooper and a murcrow, niether stay in there pokéball and i rarely use them for battles.
But sometimes me and the kid next door have battles because he only has 6 magikarps and he is easy to beat.

I'd probably spend my life trying to catch and befriend a raikou
and on my quest meet new friends and pokemon, only to relize that I don't need to catch raikou
and then in the climax, after I learn the value of friendship, he would appear and I would tame him

OP post was good until MORE THAN FOUR MOVES FOR POKÉMON
This isn't goddamn Dragon Warrior Monsters (although that game is awesome and better than gen 1&2)
Also, I'd have a Magnemite. It'd be trained to restrain it's magnetic impulse when in the house. When it becomes a Magneton, I'd ride it to uni every day.
