The readability could be a little better and he lacks a chin.
In other news I need to try giving my advice in text form rather than editing the sprite myself. But this is just to better illustrate my point, not discourage you from further working on yours.

EDIT: Edited it and used yours as a reference hope it doesnt look too much like yours.
