RE: Comrade Atari - Maxpphire - 08-05-2010 Image too big, changed it to link form instead. If you are going to thank my post you might as well do it yourself next time. Here, take this vector as a prize:warned for spam, get the fuck out of sprite discussion RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 08-08-2010 Update: Trying my hand at various different poses. Far left was before, the next three from the left are based off of the poses that 1up did. The last two on the right are a couple of poses I'm trying out. As you can see I'm not done with that last one. Also, I'm not too happy about that second one (the first based off of the 1up poses), but I keep working at it and keep working at it, and nothing looks good to me. Any suggestions? RE: Comrade Atari - Gors - 08-11-2010 the limbs are getting thinner/thicker depending on the poses, and it shouldn't happen also looks like you're ignoring the forearm (?). Notice that the arm is made up of two equally-long pieces, so you'll obviously want to represent that. RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 08-11-2010 Didn't notice the thinning/thickening problem, I'll look into that, thanks. Yeah the arms are giving me problems, what would be the best way to remedy this? Should there be some shading to give the illusion of where the bend in the arm should be (which would be where the two parts of the arm converge), or should I go ahead and redo this sprite from the ground up, making the whole thing a bit bigger, which would give me more room to define the arms? RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 08-27-2010 So I've been working on this a little bit, as well as some other things. Cleaned up the workspace some. Fixed some of the arms as Gors pointed out. (I think I got all of them?) I finally finished that fifth pose. I also came across a few stray pixels of hair still lingering from before Comrade put that Ushanka on. Speaking of the Ushanka, I noticed not many people saw it as a Ushanka so, I did this: In my personal opinion, the new one looks more like a Ushanka, but in doing so it becomes too noisy. What do you guys think? Oh, and I know that the new one is a bit out of perspective. And I leave you with this, because two frame dance animations are awesome (and Comrade approved): RE: Comrade Atari - Iceman404 - 08-28-2010 I guess he's not a very good Dancer? RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 08-28-2010 (08-28-2010, 12:07 PM)Iceman404 Wrote: I guess he's not a very good Dancer?heh, its just something silly And Comrade probably isn't a good dancer anyway, hahah. See anything that could use work? RE: Comrade Atari - Iceman404 - 08-28-2010 Well, the second sprite in the poses section's left arm is bent a little too round. (Anatomy problem) It'd also be nice if he cracked a little smile while dancing. RE: Comrade Atari - StarSock64 - 08-28-2010 the first standing pose you have is still kind of ignoring his forearms I'd give an opinion on the ushanka but I'm not really sure...on the new one it looks off because it has outlines while the rest of the sprite doesn't, so you'd have to do something about that. But I know you still want to show the shape and details so... RE: Comrade Atari - Gors - 08-28-2010 maybe you'll need stick to a bigger sprite to fit those details. RE: Comrade Atari - Nindo - 08-31-2010 Well, here's where I've gotten so far. Man, I'm slow at getting updates up, hahah. Oh and that light blue color that's in the new pallet and is being used on the emblem is not the color I'm going to be using, but I was going to fix that later. 2x'd Hmmm, his nose is off. Better Hmmm, his head looks weird. better? RE: Comrade Atari - Iceman404 - 08-31-2010 Banding around chin. It's that bearded fellow! - Nindo - 09-12-2010 Well, I've been working on this long enough and haven't made any progress, so I'd like to get some different viewpoints looking at this. Obvious WIP, but I'm definitely looking forward to some criticism. Two different poses because I wanted to work with the first one, but is just didn't come out looking right, and so I tried something different, but I don't know so... |
